I bet first times always find a way to be funny and embarrassing but they are what makes it a first! Like one has to go from one to two, you can't skip first times to being good at something.
Same goes for who just got admitted into the university... I would have talked more about some of my funny first times like but let's take a little turn to my first days at the University.
There's what Nigerians call new persons in a place or organisations like schools... It's JJC meaning (Johnny just come) and every new student in a school gets to hold that name unless they are well experienced from a former school or they act more maturely when they entered a new school.
That isn't so easy because you must ask questions if you don't want to get lost in a new place... So yeah, you must be a JJC π No denying that name for a first time.
Okay, maybe I'm over exaggerating that so I could justify my story as a first timer in my school when I got admitted but you won't blame a lady who wasn't satisfied with the school and the course at first.
Mum had went with me to the school to confirm my admission and also get a place to stay when I move in to start lectures. Normally I was to go with some important papers to show I was the one admitted but I didn't think I would need them when we left the house or maybe I forgot π
Don't laugh yet! The most embarrassing and funny part is yet to come.
Mum didn't know I wasn't with some of the papers because obviously, I was holding a file that had some papers in it (They were just receipt papers I got from buying some stuffs, mum don't know this up till now) π
We waited till it was our turn and that took up 6 hours because I refused to ask questions (mum didn't ask too) I wonder why she didn't, I guess we were both not in a hurry π it got to my turn and I went inside with the hope of getting my admission confirmed.
In less than what seem like five minute, I came out and told my mum that I was done and we should get going π but actually, I didn't do anything! The man in the office had sent me back home to get all the required papers to confirm.
I couldn't tell mum immediately until we found a place for me to rent and then we headed to a hotel we were to spend the night... Mum was furious! I couldn't even dare explain how it happened but I remember how mad she was that I forgot important papers at home.
So that means, mum wasted her time going to school with me that day and we spent a really huge amount to get to the school for the confirmation. I was left to my fate, to get the confirmation done myself.
Well, it was easy for the second time but same waiting time happened to me again... 6 hours sitting outside the office. I found out later that I was to go show my face to the man first before waiting (He mostly attends immediately to who sees him when they arrive) don't laugh at me, I felt really ashamed of myself when I found out.
He attended to me and I began my school life in a new environment. I attended almost all the classes available not knowing that exams come in differently, I would need to study textbooks to write well instead of attending classes that weren't important to attend.
I'm in my finals now and I've realised how naive and funny I was to attend those classes π the lesser you attend classes to study at home, the higher your grade (that works well in my school) so you can imagine me attending all the available classes out of sense of responsibility π
There are other JJC stories I had but I know for sure I wasn't the worse as a first timer.
Do you have any JJC story like that? You can share them in The COMedy Rumble I'm also inviting and
to join in.
