Hi everybody, it's another wonderful day to be here. This trend started a while ago on Twitter and I thought I'd bring some of it here. I'll explain how it works. It's kind of a lie-truth situation. The first part of a statement is a lie and the second part is the truthful observation. Hopefully, the examples I'll give soon would make it more clearer but nobody said I was a good teacher so here goes.
"This dip is killing me"- someone that has no crypto investment.
You hear a lot of people talking about the dip. I have a lot of friends that talk about the dip but the truth is none of these people are holding any crypto asset, some of them have never even installed binance or a crypto wallet on their phone but just because everybody's talking about dip, they want to feel among.
"Please resend last messages"- someone that is just looking for attention.
You see a lot of people posting on their WhatsApp status, "please resend last messages" to make people think something happened to their chats and now it's all gone. The truth is they have nobody to talk to at that time and are just looking for attention. I know this because I've done it twice, we're are just hoping that someone will see the status and send in a message so we can begin a conversation and feel loved even though we basically forced itπ.
"I don't usually do this but..."- someone that has done it plenty times.
Every single time I hear that I don't usually do this statement, I just know they are about to lie and ask for something they always ask for. I have a friend that said "I don't usually do this but I need somebody to buy me airtime" and I remember how many times he has asked me and a lot of other people for airtime.
"I know my rights!!!"- someone who hasn't read the Constitution even once.
A lot of people, including myself like to go, I know my rights!! we don't know anything, in fact the only rights we know is the right to freedom of speech and the right to live. Apart from that, we know nothing yet we scream I know my rights to make the other person feel like we know we're was saying. Truth is if we get arrested, we would not even know we had the right to a lawyer π.
"We are winning the Champions League this season"- someone that supports Manchester United.
I don't know why some Manchester United fans have not made peace with the fact that their team might not go anywhere in the next two years. Instead, they brag about the trophy knowing so well they are not even going to get a cup to drink from.
"I'll call you back later"- someone who has no intentions of calling back.
Forgive me, I do this a lot. I tell a lot of people I will call them back because I'm not ready to have a conversation at the time they called but I know deep down in my large intestine that I am not going to call back.
The last one I can think of, and this one bugs me a lot is...
"I'll have to talk to the team and get back to you"- someone who's mentor is Batman because he works alone.
I was applying for a job online and this person told me he would have to talk to the team before he got back to me. Turns out he had no team, it was a me myself and I situation. he just said it's because he thought it made his business sound more professional. I have a friend that recently started a consulting firm, every single time you ask him about the company he says his team is working on it. His team is just him and myself and I'm only a part of it because I help him charge his gadgets when he brings them over to my house.
I hope I have not exposed some of you in this post. I didn't mention a lot but I know some of you are guilty of this, speak now and don't hold your peace forever.
"Do well to add your "someone that" jokes, let's make a short thread and have a laugh. You could reblog too if you think some of your friends might be interested. The key is to have fun, see you in the comment section"- someone who is using style to ask for a reblog.
