My cousin Filiberto, when he was about 19 years old, used to meet at his house, actually the house of my aunt Ramona –his mother–. His three best friends (Manuel, Carlos and Eduardo) were always at those private parties, there they played music, shared a few drinks and prepared something to eat. The music was very pleasant, well pleasant for them since they loved rock and my poor aunt, who was an older woman, lived tormented by that din, it was very funny to see her walking around the house with her hands on her ears, looking for the perfect place where the "harmonious" melodies were less perceived. It was then that he decided to buy some earplugs for those "pleasant" encounters with that youth group.
Filiberto was a chubby boy and very helpful, so much so that every time they met he offered to cook dinner, usually late at night. By then my aunt was sleeping –or at least she was trying to be–, he had the kitchen at his leisure. The friends were delighted with his attentions. One day, Manuel offered to help him, but he flatly refused. Given the refusal they were dismayed, when my family member went to demonstrate his culinary skills, his colleagues began to question his attitude and suspected that something strange was going on. So they devised a plan.
The boys couldn't help laughing, so much so that they almost fell when they discovered all that. Filiberto heard a small noise, with his eyes he roamed the place and as he didn't see anything strange he went back to his own thing. The very stealthy boys returned to the room, being there they laughed out loud. Shortly after, my cousin appeared with a tray where he brought the food, his friends' food was a larger quantity than his, when they asked him why he served so little, he replied that the pasta did not get bigger and that it must have been terrible. quality since it yielded nothing. The truth was that my cousin already had about half a kilo of pasta ahead of him and it didn't show because he was chubby. Hearing this, laughter accompanied the environment, Filiberto was surprised, he did not understand their reactions, and a little calmer they told him that they had spied on him through the drawing blocks. Seeing himself unmasked, he had no choice but to laugh too, but from that day on he was relieved as cook.
