Being home alone is something I cherish so much as long as I have electricity and my books. My mom had to work the night shift and I had the house all to myself.
I don't know what dragged me to seeing the horror film Netflix had been putting up for me to watch. I don't watch horror films at night especially when I'm alone but this time, the short info I read about the movie seemed quite interesting and I also thought that it wasn't gonna be so scary plus I am grown up. At least a girl in her twenties should be able to watch a horror film at night all by herself (my thoughts playing the drums for me while I danced to the tune).
I pressed the play button on the TV remote and the movie started. I had a book in my hands which I read while watching the movie. That's just me, I can't go anywhere without a book. So reading and watching it was. The movie had run thirty minutes already and it was getting super scary so I tried distracting myself from a scene by looking into my book. The moment I did, a drawing in the book made the little hairs on my skin stand.
You needed to see the way I dropped the book slowly to avoid noises as it was pretty dark outside. I looked at my clock and it was past midnight then I knew that the host of darkness was gonna look for me soon if I made a funny sound especially with the film still running. I immediately reached out to get the TV remote but it was gone. "Who the actual fuck took it"? That was the beginning of the drama.
I got up from the couch, walked slowly to turn the TV off using the buttons on it but the moment I got to it, it went off on its own but there was no power outage. I immediately felt pressed and I almost cursed my kidney for releasing waste at such a time like that. The way the pressure came to use the bathroom was mad. I almost ran crazy, my eyes moistened and everything in my house that I felt I was used to grew eyes, horns, mouth and even creepy hands.
"Mom, mom please come" I screamed the moment a nail fell from the ceiling to the ground. The atmosphere became grim and it was as if nature was against me, the beautiful moon that had come out that night immediately disappeared. I couldn't find the switch to turn on the lights in the house because each step I took made me feel I was walking to whoever had jumped out from the film I was watching into my house knowing fully well that I was alone and vulnerable.
My bladder was screaming that I used the bathroom but my legs and body were screaming that I sat down on the couch and made no sound till the morning but I knew that if I did that, haha! I would definitely be shown a luxury rest room in the dream which I won't resist to use and the end result will be history so I had to figure something out because I didn't want preaching from my mother. Her preaching sucks, she sounds like the pastors in "the devil all the time" I don't know if you've seen that film but trust me those pastors suck and I'm still wondering how they got their members.
Different creeping sounds could be heard in the distance and even in my house, something I've never heard before. I panicked but I had to use the bathroom by all means so I got up, took my phone with me, turned on the flashlight and I flew upstairs. I flew, trust me, because I was jumping steps. The moment I got to my room, there was a figure in my bed all hell let loose as the bladder released what it held. I couldn't cry, I stood there like a molten image looking at the thing in my bed.
It moved and my hands vibrated as if I had a vibrator on. Suddenly, it uncovered its face and jumped out screaming "I got you".
I almost died of shock but thank God, I didn't. I still have a long way to go. The person that did this thing to me has lived almost all her life and she was trying to make me lose mine. I'd have tormented her till the day the earth swallowed her. It was my mother, she lied about the night shift and her excuse was that she needed a little fun time with me, that it was long we had to play some silly games. I did feel what she meant but she actually did go the extreme.
We still laugh about it today but it wasn't funny at all the day it actually happened. I was so mad at her for playing such pranks but I've sworn that never will I ever watch a horror film at night because even the most friendly thing in your house could become your worst nightmare.
