Ohh, why do innocent people suffer the most? How do you feel whenever you see people suffering? Honestly, words can't explain my thoughts and feelings. And whenever I recall this story am about telling, my heart aches and I do ask myself if nothing could be done to reverse the case to normal. Anyway, one thing must kill a man and this is sure.
Right now, am going to narrate a story that happened to our fellow human. All I need from you is to pay more than usual attention and to read with meaning and understanding so as to understand the story. Let's move on.
The story
There lives a woman in Ibo land. Her name is Chioma and she has a boy as her only child. When the woman (Chioma) got married to her handsome husband, she suffered barrenness for good 10 years. She and her husband tried and did all they could to have a baby, but to no avail. Also, all the doctors they visited told them that their reproductive organs are normal. Therefore, they should wait patiently for God's time.
Having gotten same response from different doctors, they decided to focus on their business. Her husband brothers decided to frustrate their lives by giving their own wives the order to insult their elder brother's wife. Moreover, they too asked their brother to share their father's inheritance. Since the man knows their aim, he called on his kinsmen to share their father's properties for them. That didn't sound good to his brother's ears. Yet, they devices another way of achieving their aim. Do you know what they did? Hmmm, too bad. I wish we humans should change to better.
To achieve their aim, they unanimously agreed to quench their brother's life. But the question is HOW? Here in IBO land, they have high regard for male children. So, even if you have 5 or 6 female children but don't have a male, people would degrade you and when sharing father's properties, if you don't know your stand, they will not give you. Or, depending on the family, they will give you meager while the lion share goes to those with male children. But most times, they would cunningly end the person's life.
So, as they planned to end their brother's life mysteriously, they were unaware that God had a different plan for the man. 2 months before his death, which is approximately on the 11th year of their the woman (Chioma) became pregnant. To her husband, it was a dream. But the 2 kept it as their personal secret because they didn't expect it. 2 months later, a mysterious dog entered their compound and bite the man. Since the lady didn't know the bad intention of his husband's brothers, called on them for help.
They delayed and before their arrival, the man gave up. Before the woman could understand what's going on, they changed the topic to another one. What do I mean? My people, do you guys know that they started heaping the blame on the woman? They accused her for killing their brother claiming that a mysterious dog entered their compound. Also, they said she killed him so as to take away all his properties and to share it with her siblings since she is an unproductive tree. It all happened like a joke and honestly, it's reality.
To worsen the whole issue, they said the woman(Chioma) must drink the water they used in washing the husband's corpse as a sign to believe that she is innocent. To prove her innocency, according to her kinsmen, she must drink it. Initially, she accepted to drink from it. So, they took her inside a room. Happily, they bathed the corpse, after bathing, while bringing the water, the man (one of his husband's brothers) carrying the water added something (poison) to it. Though, Chioma was unaware of the danger, but, thank God, her friend saw it and immediately told Chioma not to drink the water.
So, as they brought the water, she rejected drinking from it. Instead, she walked straight to the place they bathed him, and took water directly from the basin. That really threw them into amazement. According to custom, if the woman is faulty, she must die instantly or, within a couple of days. But, must not exceed 14 days. Now, the woman is innocent and the rumor is being carried that she is pregnant. What else is expected to happen if not for the kinsmen to figure out another means of killing the woman. But, why are they doing these things? Hmm, it's just to take away the man's inheritance. That's all!!!
Anyway, one thing is sure, If the creator is with you, no one could harm you. Yes, Chioma's case is a good example to proof that. Do you know that her husband's brothers seeing fully well that the woman is pregnant, bribed a lady to fight Chioma and to make sure she will hit her heavily on her stomach so as to abort the baby. Unfortunately for them, their plan didn't work out because the lady had a change of mind. It's only the lady that knows what Changed her mind from accomplishing their agreement because, she kept it as secret down to this day. But, secretly, she exposed their plans to the woman. And same time, adviced her to apply caution because, her husband's brothers have determined to terminate the baby and if possible, including the mother.
Knowing fully their intentions, decided to leave her husband's compound to her maiden house(her parents house). One night, she heard a strange knock around 12 am. Next, the giants kicked-open their door, Pointing a gun at the sister, asked her to present the woman(they showed her picture to the sister) to them. Immediately, she, although, heavily pregnant jumped out through window and ran away for her dear life.
Few months later, the rumor reached home that she have given birth to a bouncing baby boy. And even till date, none of us including the kinsmen that can tell her exact movement. Anyway, just few weeks ago, I attended a friend's wedding and met the woman. She told me that the boy is studying law in high school, meaning that, soon, he will become a lawyer. Now, tell me, what will be the fate of those his kinsmen and uncles though some have died. But their children are occupying the boy's inheritance and properties.

Ohh, ¿por qué la gente inocente sufre más? ¿Cómo te sientes cuando ves a la gente sufriendo? Honestamente, las palabras no pueden explicar mis pensamientos y sentimientos. Y cada vez que recuerdo esta historia que estoy por contar, me duele el corazón y me pregunto si no se podría hacer nada para revertir el caso a la normalidad. De todos modos, una cosa debe matar a un hombre y esto es seguro.
En este momento, voy a narrar una historia que le sucedió a nuestro prójimo. Todo lo que necesito de ti es que prestes más atención de la habitual y que leas con significado y comprensión para comprender la historia. Vamonos.
La historia
Allí vive una mujer en tierra Ibo. Su nombre es Chioma y tiene un niño como único hijo. Cuando la mujer (Chioma) se casó con su apuesto esposo, sufrió esterilidad durante 10 años. Ella y su esposo intentaron e hicieron todo lo que pudieron para tener un bebé, pero fue en vano. Además, todos los médicos que visitaron les dijeron que sus órganos reproductivos son normales. Por lo tanto, deben esperar pacientemente el tiempo de Dios.
Habiendo obtenido la misma respuesta de diferentes médicos, decidieron enfocarse en su negocio. Sus hermanos esposos decidieron frustrar sus vidas dando a sus propias esposas la orden de insultar a la esposa de su hermano mayor. Además, también le pidieron a su hermano que compartiera la herencia de su padre. Como el hombre conoce su objetivo, llamó a sus parientes a compartir las propiedades de su padre por ellos. Eso no sonaba bien a los oídos de su hermano. Sin embargo, inventan otra forma de lograr su objetivo. ¿Sabes lo que hicieron? Mmmm, muy mal. Ojalá los humanos cambiemos para mejorar.
Para lograr su objetivo, acordaron por unanimidad apagar la vida de su hermano. ¿Pero la pregunta es cómo? Aquí en la tierra de los IBO, tienen un gran respeto por los niños varones. Entonces, incluso si tienes 5 o 6 hijas pero no tienes un varón, la gente te degradará y al compartir las propiedades del padre, si no conoces tu posición, no te lo darán. O, dependiendo de la familia, te darán magro mientras que la parte del león va a los que tienen hijos varones. Pero la mayoría de las veces, terminarían astutamente con la vida de la persona.
Entonces, mientras planeaban terminar misteriosamente con la vida de su hermano, no sabían que Dios tenía un plan diferente para el hombre. 2 meses antes de su muerte, que es aproximadamente en el año 11 de su la mujer (Chioma) quedó embarazada. Para su marido, era un sueño. Pero los 2 lo mantuvieron como su secreto personal porque no lo esperaban. 2 meses después, un perro misterioso entró en su complejo y mordió al hombre. Como la señora desconocía la mala intención de los hermanos de su marido, les pidió ayuda.
Se demoraron y antes de su llegada, el hombre se dio por vencido. Antes de que la mujer pudiera entender lo que estaba pasando, cambiaron el tema a otro. ¿Que quiero decir? Mi gente, ¿ustedes saben que comenzaron a echarle la culpa a la mujer? La acusaron de matar a su hermano alegando que un perro misterioso entró en su recinto. También dijeron que ella lo mató para quitarle todas sus propiedades y compartirlas con sus hermanos ya que ella es un árbol improductivo. Todo sucedió como una broma y, sinceramente, es la realidad.
Para empeorar todo el asunto, dijeron que la mujer (Chioma) debe beber el agua que usaron para lavar el cadáver del esposo como una señal para creer que ella es inocente. Para probar su inocencia, según sus parientes, debe beberlo. Inicialmente, aceptó beber de él. Entonces, la llevaron dentro de una habitación. Felices bañaron el cadáver, después del baño, mientras traían el agua, el hombre (uno de los hermanos de su marido) que llevaba el agua le añadió algo (veneno). Sin embargo, Chioma no estaba al tanto del peligro, pero, gracias a Dios, su amiga lo vio e inmediatamente le dijo a Chioma que no bebiera el agua.
Entonces, cuando trajeron el agua, ella rechazó beber de ella. En cambio, caminó directamente al lugar donde lo bañaron y tomó agua directamente de la palangana. Eso realmente los dejó asombrados. Según la costumbre, si la mujer es defectuosa, debe morir instantáneamente o, dentro de un par de días. Pero, no debe exceder los 14 días. Ahora, la mujer es inocente y corre el rumor de que está embarazada. ¿Qué más se espera que suceda si no es que los parientes encuentren otro medio para matar a la mujer? Pero, ¿por qué están haciendo estas cosas? Hmm, es solo para quitarle la herencia al hombre. ¡¡¡Eso es todo!!!
De todos modos, una cosa es segura, si el creador está contigo, nadie podría hacerte daño. Sí, el caso de Chioma es un buen ejemplo para probarlo. ¿Sabes que los hermanos de su esposo, al ver muy bien que la mujer está embarazada, sobornaron a una dama para que luchara contra Chioma y se asegurara de que la golpeara fuertemente en el estómago para abortar al bebé? Desafortunadamente para ellos, su plan no funcionó porque la dama cambió de opinión. Es solo la dama que sabe qué cambió de opinión de cumplir con su acuerdo porque lo mantuvo en secreto hasta el día de hoy. Pero, en secreto, expuso sus planes a la mujer. Y al mismo tiempo, le aconsejó extremar las precauciones porque los hermanos de su esposo han determinado interrumpir al bebé y, de ser posible, incluir a la madre.
Conociendo plenamente sus intenciones, decidió dejar el recinto de su esposo a la casa de su doncella (la casa de sus padres). Una noche, escuchó un golpe extraño alrededor de las 12 am. Luego, los gigantes abrieron la puerta de una patada, apuntando con un arma a la hermana, le pidieron que les presentara a la mujer (le mostraron su foto a la hermana). De todos modos, hace apenas unas semanas, asistí a la boda de un amigo y conocí a la mujer.
