The story so far: Everyone is looking for the Darklyte Armor. Malagen has mobilized. The main party is arriving at a village near where the armor is. Aalok still has a huge headstart and a book guiding him. The Eastern Kingdom armies, minus the elves, have mobilized as well.
The human Kings and leader of the Dwarfs have mobilized the armies and are awaiting scouts. When the first rider returns they are informed of a supply caravan loosely guarded. It seems Malagen is not concerned with the mortal forces.
Back on the ship, G'Dar has secured the captured demon's head. Lower demon's are messengers so it is important to capture this one. Prevents it from returning to the other plane and they can use it for information.
The group arrives in the village and everyone is dead. They realize it was the demons that attacked. There are hundreds of demon eggs sprouting in the village. This gives the plan away though! The heroes realize they wouldn't plant the eggs here if it was not near the Darklyte Armor. They notice a glowing blue light in the hills and decide to head that way.
As usual, Aalok is ahead of everyone. The book has led them to the mountain area as well. But it suddenly stops working. After a bit of witty response between Verdemis and Aalok, the book magically opens and shows the way.
Back on the battlefield the Eastern Kingdom army ambushes the supply line mostly run by Orcs. This is the first thing that seems to go well for the mortals. They wipe out the group rather easily.
A Kobald manages to relay the attack to Malagen however. He seems mostly uninterested as his focus is fully on finding the Darklyte Armor. A fact which Korzeth prods with. Malagen has had enough of Korzeth's verbal attacks and does some kind of force choke thing to show his power over him. He then orders Shrogran to take Korzeth's men to deal with the mortals.
Aalok's head start and use of the magic book prove to be key in finding the Darklyte Armor first. Malagen is still far behind, the rest of the world barely knows of its existence, and even the group of heroes may be close by but do not know what they're looking for.
However, the armor is guarded by the biggest dragon any of them have ever seen. Aalok tells Verdemis to use Shim'Tar, his own dragon to fight it if it wakes up. Verdemis does not seem confident in this.
Aalok presses on anyway and as he goes to take posession of the armor, the guardian dragon awakens!
The armor has been found! Aalok, as expected, is the first to the goal. There is one final obstacle though! The biggest dragon they've ever faced. Has it been for naught? Is the dragon going to destroy them without hesitation? Do the heroes have any chance of catching up and snatching victory? What of the war? The mortals finally got a victory but will Aalok gain the Darklyte Armor's power to add to the vampire's already immense advantage? And what about the demons? They'll be hatching in the next day or so with their own overwhelming power.
So much is about to unfold. Kind of exciting.
