Yikes, have we got a week this week. I'm not sure if it is all the stimulus money or what floating around out there, but there is some serious demand for new books released today. Yes, yes...I know...this isn't Leofinance worthy, but some money could be made, yet again, today if one chooses to do so. I will not be flipping any books this week, but please feel free to do so. With that out the way, let's review the data and see what is going on in comic book pop culture today. Everyone loves data, right? I do, anyway!
My goodness, publisher Bad Idea strikes again. This book, Tankers 1, has a $6 USD cover price. The last sale on eBay was for over $100 USD. The current bid, with one hour left to go, is already over $60 USD. Note to self; if I see any Bad Idea books on Midtown for the upcoming week, BUY IT.
The hot release this week is Geoff Johns book set in a radioactive future. Some type of entity, known as Geiger, lives beyond the civilized world, and appears to be set to save humanity. Or maybe not? I don't know, but I"ll pick it up if I see it today. The A cover, above, had a recent sale for $20 USD.
The B-cover:
Is getting less than $10 USD. The c-cover:
is clearing a cool $20 USD. I do want to give this one a read today if I can find it. If you see the "Thank You Cover" out there in the wild cheap...well...you know what to do. (Hint: buy it).
I'm not sure what this book is about, or why it is heating up, but Scout's The Impure 1 is getting over $10 USD currently.
Campbell's 1:25 2nd print of Demon Days is currently +$50 USD. This is an easy "double your money" book if you a) find it and b) sell it.
Antarctic Press's Death by Life, a $4 USD book, has two recent sales of $30 USD and $25 USD, respectively.
This Thank You Cover, should you see it, is getting $25 - $30 USD on eBay. It's cool, but I'll pass.
Whew! And that's it! The two books I'll be trying to get today or off of eBay later this week are (aside from Geiger):
I really enjoyed the first book of the new Swamp Thing...hoping it grows a bit more in issue #2.
This one is getting around $20 USD...not sure if it's a proper "comic book" per se, but it is the prequel to the original Night of the Living Dead. I love that film and the work of George Romero. I'm hoping to snag this one online if price dips below $20 USD at some point. I believe Romero's son wrote this story.
That's it for this week; as always, many thanks for stopping by and checking these out. Good luck today if you head out into the crazy world.
