Today I'd like to take you back in time once more, to the ever so creative and ground breaking period of the 1970s. Especially the German musical landscape has been decisive for the Electronic Music up to this day.
A not so well known band name of the time, and with only 2 years of activity, was "Harmonia".
And that despite the fact, that the band consisted of 3 real big names in electronic music: Dieter Moebius , Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Michael Rother.
Their albums (there are only the 2) are exemplary for the the german style of psychodelic, electronic music of this time period. The typical sounds of other bands those musicians were involved with, like "Neu!", "Cluster", Tangerine Dream" ect. are clearly audible.
If you feel like taking a little time travel, listen to their 1974 album
Harmonia - Musik von Harmonia
or their 1975 album
Harmonia - DeLuxe
At this point, I'm forced to admit that YouTube is - even with all its questionable sides - a most valuable source. Without databases like YouTube, all those lesser known bands and their work would be almost impossible to listen to.
Even back in the days music like Harmonia only had a niche market. And today even less people know about this influential time period for all following musicians.
Well, have fun and till next time!
