The cyclops reflects through fractals 💎
2022 has already been a huge year for EDM and the year is still just getting started. I already posted about Excision's new album Onyx, if you missed that be sure to go check it out here. Next up is Subtronics and his first full-length studio album FRACTALS.
Subtronics may not be as big of a name in the industry as Excision, but he is no stranger to the bass realm either. Subtronics' label Cyclops Recordings was established in 2020 and consistently releases singles that will blow your speakers. This new 16-song album is his best work yet.
You can download or stream FRACTALS on your preferred platform by visiting https://outnow.io/t/fractals.
You can listen to a 30-second preview of all 16 songs on FRACTALS thanks to this convenient embed from Spotify.
The artwork for this album is so gorgeous and fits with the sound a feel of FRACTALS. I feel as though it is my duty to discuss my favorite songs from this new release.
2. Spacetime (feat. Nevve)
This song starts out slow and you may start thinking it is about to be a ballad of sorts thanks to the vocals from Nevve. Not so fast, this thing heat up eventually. You'll be begging for the drop to finally happen once it finally happens about a minute and a half in. Then you get to hear that signature Subtronics frequency of funky vibes and punches from another dimension.
3. Cabin Fever
The name of this song reminded me of Wiz Khalifa and that nostalgia told me that Subtronics was about to have a banger with this track. I sure as hell was right about that, I mean damn. The mysterious and spooky sound is a great blend with the overwhelming bass that hits so good when the beat drops. This is one of those tunes that will make your face get all ugly and then chills start flowing up and down your spine.
7. Gummy Worm (feat. Boogie T)
Subtronics and Boogie T are such a perfect match. If you know either name, you've got to at least be a little prepared for how rocking this song is about to be. If you like wonky you are going to be bouncing to the beat of this powerful collab with bits of humor.
8. Cyclops Rocks
Speeding things up a bit here, this song goes and goes. If you manage to keep up with the rhythm, then you'll find out that this turns out to be the ideal theme song for cyclops worldwide. The vibes are all the way right with this one.
14. Tuba Demon
Time to get on Subtronics' level. You may be like me and have no idea what a tuba demon is, but this song is undeniably hot as the devil. The sounds that emit from the speakers with this track are unreal. It amazes me how producers like Subtronics come up with stuff like this.
15. Hieroglyph
This is my favorite song off this album. I am not sure why, but I always seem to be obsessed with songs that sound ancient. This one hits the low-end so damn good and pairing it with some crazy flute action just makes me want to hit the ground running.
