Back on the dance floor... FINALLY!
Time sure does fly. It has already been since July that and I went to Excision's Reunion. The only show we have been to since then is Ace Aura at Skully's back on August 7th. Thankfully we finally got another chance to go to a rave. This time it landed on my birthday, October 9th. We got tickets to go see Ghastly and Joyryde DJ together at Bluestone as their Ghostrydr duo.

Bluestone is a really cool venue. It's inside of an old church turned music spot. I had been there once before, but never had attended anything here. We left late Saturday evening and drove 2.5 hrs to the location. We ended up staying from around 10:15 pm until a little after 1 am. That may not sound very long, but trust me when I say it was plenty of time to have a blast and become exhausted.
loves (and I mean LOVES) getting creative with her outfits for these raves. I honestly think it is her favorite part. Whereas mine is definitely getting to dance to the dope music. I like wearing cool stuff too, don't worry. This time my girl made sure I had something awesome to wear. She got me a pair of acid drip shorts that matched her new bikini. As you will see in the photos below, she looked like an absolute babe. The colors she decided upon are just so amazing. Her entire outfit was just stellar. She was by far the best-looking chick out there that night. I can't tell you how many girls complimented her and the high number of dudes I saw checking her out.
Back in the day, I would have never been able to be comfortable taking a sexy girlfriend out half-naked with a bunch of other people. Thankfully I have matured to no longer have jealousy issues, plus I have supreme trust with . She stays by my side no matter what and I do anything I must to make sure she is always safe.
Enough about our dynamic, check out our outfits!
My god . Where you get an ass like that???
My favorite photo by far!
Obviously, I didn't have shoes on in the photos that we took at my place, but I promise I wore a pair to the show. I have a go-to pair of glow-in-the-dark Nikes that I designed on Nike I.D. years back. They match pretty much all of my rave outfits, plus it's cool for my feet to glow. Once we finally got to the show, the place was already pretty packed. The layout and acoustics for Bluestone are pretty great. There is plenty of space and the sound just flows so smoothly throughout the entire venue. I'm psyched that this is where we got to go for my 29th birthday, even more, so that I got to have my girl along with me. The last time that I went to a show here, I was alone.
We were right up front of the rails the entire time. It takes some smooth maneuvering, but I've found it's pretty easy to get to the front at pretty much any show. Just have to know how to guard your space and seize the opportunity when people leave to go get drinks, smoke, or to the bathroom. By the time Ghastly and Joyryde finally got on stage, we were pretty tired already. It was after midnight and 2 or 3 other DJs had already been on. We lasted for about half of their set and then decided to skedaddle before the mass exodus of ravers.
Joyryde on the left and Ghastly on the right.
The show was pretty sick! We didn't even take one water break the entire time, we didn't want to lose our spot at the front. Probably should have brought something with us, but we forgot this time. We had each other at least.
I was a fan of Ghastly before attending this rave but hadn't listened to Joyryde much. Together as Ghostrydr they are pretty badass, I am glad we got to go. Sadly there was not one moshpit the entire night, that kind of tells you what kind of show this was. I personally prefer the harder tunes and crazier crowds. It was nice to not have to worry about protecting my girl from crazy animals trying to hurt each other, but at the same time, I missed it. Hopefully, the next show we go to is crazier than this one was.
This old church is so cool, I love the stained glass windows upstairs.
As always, this rave was full of interesting people.
We didn't get back home until nearly 4 am. slept the entire car ride home. Somehow I was wide awake and made it home with zero instances of nodding off. Normally I have to drink coffee just to survive the ride, but not this time. As you can see in the photos below, I had plenty of energy left when we got home. I did force myself to sleep though, my body needed it badly,
loves her new Mini Mouse Witch Squishmallow.
After it was all said and done, I had a fantastic birthday. The night was spent doing one of the things I love most with the girl I love. I really can't ask for more. About the only thing I'd hope for is that shows like these would be held locally where I live. Driving several hours just to go dance is no easy task. If we had this type of thing here in WV, I'd go every single weekend without a doubt. This shit never gets old!
