нещодавно інтернет облетіла новина, що дві еко-активістки облили супом легендарні "Соняшники" Вінсента Ван Гога.
Ситуація скандальна та цікава, тож давайте розбиратися що до чого.

Декілька днів назад у лондонській Національній галереї дві дівчини вирішили влаштувати акцію протесту проти видобутку нафти у Великій Британії. І "найращою" ідеєю в їх розумінні було вилити банку томатного супу Хайнц на шедевр світового мистецтва. Нуу, увагу то вони привернули, але тільки до свого безглуздого та абсолютно девіантного вчинку, звісно, на мою суб'єктивну думку.
A few days ago, in London's National Gallery, two girls decided to stage a protest against oil production in Great Britain. And the "best" idea in their understanding was to pour a can of Heinz tomato soup on a masterpiece of world art. Well, they drew attention, but only to their senseless and absolutely deviant act, of course, in my subjective opinion.
Давайте почнемо з мотивації цих двох "активісток". Під час протесту вони скандували таку думку: "Що дорожче? Мистецтво чи життя? Чи воно коштує дорожче, ніж їжа? Дорожче, ніж справедливість? Вас більше хвилює захист картини чи захист нашої планети та людей?" (посилання на цитату/link to quote) Дівчата, виходячи з напису на футболках, представляли організацію Just stop oil, яка в свою чергу, вимагає від Британського уряду припити добування нафти та газу. Організація, на скільки я знаю, славиться своєю нелогічністю дій та проявами вандалізму. Впринципі, це нам демонструє випадок із картиною Ван Гога.

More expensive than justice? Are you more concerned about protecting a painting or protecting our planet and people?" The organization, as far as I know, is famous for its illogical actions and manifestations of vandalism. In principle, this is demonstrated by the case with Van Gogh's painting.
Але цим пов'язані томатний суп, художник та паливо? Питання дійсно хороше. Лозунг: "Що важливіше: мистецтво чи життя" Є родини, які не можуть дозволити собі розігріти банку супу, адже для них це паливо задороге" - абсолютно не резонує з діяльністю організації. Just stop oil блокують НПЗ та закликають не видавати їм ліцензії. За їх логікою, це здешевить паливо, а отже бідні зможуть вільно його використовувати.
Отак. Чесно, логіки тут немає, абсолютно. Ні з погляду економіки, ні з погляду екології. Це тупо протест заради протесту, а не якоїсь благої цілі.
But is tomato soup, an artist and fuel related to this? The question is really good. The slogan: "What is more important: art or life" There are families who cannot afford to heat a can of soup, because for them this fuel is expensive" - absolutely does not resonate with the activities of the organization. Just stop oil blocks refineries and calls not to issue them licenses. For according to their logic, this will make fuel cheaper, and therefore the poor will be able to use it freely.
Oh yeah. Honestly, there is absolutely no logic here. Neither from the point of view of the economy, nor from the point of view of ecology. It's a stupid protest for the sake of protest, not for any good purpose.
До того ж, хіба адекватно псувати шедевр світового мистецтва? Та ще й кого - Вінсента Ван Гога, який був затятим гуманістом та навпаки підносив працю селян і не цурався бідних людей. Якщо б ті дівчата дійсно хотіли привернути увагу до проблеми, а не до себе, то б обрали цивілізовану форму протесту, як от мітинг чи тренд в інтернеті....
Але ні, вони вирішили, що вандалізм - це воно.

If those girls really wanted to draw attention to the problem, and not to themselves, they would have chosen a civilized form of protest, such as a rally or a trend on the Internet....
But no, they decided that vandalism was it.
Такі от вчинки привертають увагу, але в негативному ключі. Ось з-за подібних людей псується імідж не тільки організацій та активістів, які це вчинили, а і певних тем у суспільстві.
Тому, цей "простест" - не більше ніж спроба хайпануть. Жалко тільки що від цього постраждало надбання світового мистецтва. До речі, із самою картиною все добре, але рама постраждала.
Such actions attract attention, but in a negative way. It is because of such people that the image of not only the organizations and activists who committed it, but also certain topics in society is tarnished.
Therefore, this "simplification" is nothing more than an attempt to hype. It is a pity that the heritage of world art suffered from this. By the way, everything is fine with the picture itself, but the frame was damaged.
До речі, як відомо Вінсент обожнював соняхи, тому у нього не одна картина з їх зображенням. Одну я бачила в Амстердамі. Не знаю, ким треба бути, щоб піднялася руку спотворити цю красу.
