В далекому 2013 році мої друзі - рибалки познайомили мене з захоплюючим способом ловлі сома – на квок. До того часу я вже вмів ловити сома на джиг та на воблери.
Я зацікавився, спеціально для цього придбав міцні спінінги, плетений шнур, грузила та сомові гачки. В якості наживки на сома вирішив використовувати перловицю, бо вона виявилась самою доступною.
Я її сам збирав в річці Десенка, її багато на піщаному дні річки на глибині до 1 метра. На гачки треба наживляти великий пучок наживки, відповідно і перловиці треба багато, тому я завжди збирав її не менше одного відра.
На шнур я прилаштовував три грузила по 80 грам кожне. Три, тому що вони разом створюють ефект маятника і тримають шнур з наживкою вертикально, що дуже важливо при ловлі таким способом. Звук від квока йде вниз від човна до дна річки, тому і приманка повинна знаходитись в тому ж секторі на висоті 2-3 метри від дна.
Back in 2013, my fisherman friends introduced me to an exciting way of catching catfish - with a quok. By that time, I already knew how to catch catfish on jigs and wobblers.
I got interested, I bought strong spinning rods, braided line, sinkers and catfish hooks specifically for this purpose. As bait for catfish, I decided to use pearl barley, because it turned out to be the most affordable.
I collected it myself in the Desenka River, there is a lot of it on the sandy bottom of the river at a depth of up to 1 meter. The hooks need to be baited with a large bunch of bait, accordingly, a lot of pearl barley is needed, so I always collected at least one bucket of it.
I attached three sinkers of 80 grams each to the cord. Three, because together they create a pendulum effect and keep the line with the bait vertical, which is very important when fishing in this way. The sound of the quack goes down from the boat to the bottom of the river, so the bait should be in the same sector at a height of 2-3 meters from the bottom.
Для того, щоб почати ловлю сома, спочатку потрібно провести розвідку перспективних канав на руслі річки, щоб глибина була від 6 метрів і більше, а їх довжина не менше 400 -500 метрів. Після цього робиш поправку на хвилю, напрямок вітру, заходиш на початок канави та викидаєш водяний парус. Він допомагає тримати човен рівно, бо в розкритому вигляді у воді тримає напрям човна і допомагає йому повільно сплавлятися по течії вздовж вибраної канави.
Саме цікаве починається, коли наживка занурена у воду, на екрані ехолота видно наживку, і ти починаєш працювати квоком. Дивишся на екран ехолота і видається так, ніби дивишся мультфільм по телевізору. Буквально після перших звуків від удара квоком по воді на ехолоті видно, як зацікавлені соми відриваються від дна і починають рухатись в сторону приманки. І чим ближче вони підходять до приманки, тим міцніше тримаєш спінінг, бо розумієш, що атака може статися в будь-яку мить. Ці відчуття передати неможливо, це треба особисто пережити.
Коли на екрані ехолота видно, що до наживки наближається реальний монстр, тоді думаєш: хоч би не клюнув. Бо розумієш, що шнур довжиною 8-10 метрів переваг в боротьбі за виважування сома не дає, нема амортизації, а в той же час, сом вагою понад 20 кілограм одним ривком може або човна перекинути, або рибалку викинути з човна, чи просто зламати все спорядження.
In order to start fishing for catfish, you first need to conduct a survey of promising ditches on the riverbed, so that the depth is from 6 meters or more, and their length is at least 400-500 meters. After that, you make a correction for the wave, the direction of the wind, go to the beginning of the ditch and throw out the water sail. It helps to keep the boat steady, because in the open form in the water it keeps the direction of the boat and helps it float slowly down the current along the chosen ditch.
The real fun begins when the bait is submerged in the water, the sonar screen shows the bait, and you start working with a quoque. You look at the sonar screen and it seems as if you are watching a cartoon on TV. Literally after the first sounds of the quack hitting the water on the echo sounder, you can see how interested catfish break away from the bottom and start moving towards the bait. And the closer they come to the bait, the tighter you hold the spinning, because you understand that an attack can happen at any moment. It is impossible to convey these feelings, it must be experienced personally.
When you see on the echo sounder screen that a real monster is approaching the bait, then you think: at least he won't bite. Because you understand that a line with a length of 8-10 meters does not give advantages in the struggle for balancing a catfish, there is no depreciation, and at the same time, a catfish weighing more than 20 kilograms can either overturn the boat with one jerk, or throw the fisherman out of the boat, or simply break everything equipment.

Тоді я трофейного сома не зловив, бо найбільший заважив на 12 кілограм, але задоволення та адреналіну було вдосталь.
One of the outings for such fishing was in the wonderful city of Rzhyshchiv. From Rzhishchev itself to the town of Baliko-Shchuchinka, there are many promising places for fishing. Wonderful views, unique slopes of the Dnipro, various depths.
I didn't catch a trophy catfish then, because the largest weighed 12 kilograms, but there was plenty of pleasure and adrenaline.
В цьому році також були великі плани на сезон, але, на жаль, війна все зіпсувала. Але зараз головне не рибалка, а перемога над ворогом.
Вірю в наші збройні сили. Впевнений в нашій перемозі. А в мирний час неодмінно навідаюсь на свої улюблені рибацькі локації.
