The Russian Federation is home to a large number of ethnic republics that briefly attempted to declare their sovereignty during the collapse of the Soviet Union. A similar series of crises now facing the country should encourage debate on what should be done if such areas once again push for more autonomy.
A proactive position on the part of the democratic world is essential. After the First World War the West supported the independence of the nations that emerged from the dying Austro-Hungarian Empire, and declined to support the aspirations of nations emerging from the dying Russian Empire. The independence of Poland, Finland and the Baltic states was supported, but that of Ukraine and other future constituent republics of the USSR was not. As a result, democracy was established on the territories of all free nations until the Second World War, then quickly restored after the end of the Cold War. The lands of those peoples who were denied independence initially plunged into bloody chaos, and then were incorporated for seven decades into one of the most brutal regimes of the twentieth century.
"Russia has not lost anything and will not lose anything during the special military operation in Ukraine, the country has only strengthened its sovereignty," Vladimir Putin said.
Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Kalmykia, Dagestan, Ichkeria, Ingushetia, Karelia, Sakha and 13 other republics are superfluous for Russia, as well as Kuban, Siberia, the Far East and the Ural Republic. Russia's sovereignty will be strengthened as a result of the fall of the excess. And this is not a joke. Peace will come only when the empire ceases to exist.
We can't bend. We cannot give in to blackmail. Appeasement of terrorists is impossible. Only total victory and the collapse of the empire will save Europe and the whole world.

Зайвими для Росії є Татарстан, Башкортостан, Калмикія, Дагестан, Ічкерія, Інгушетія, Карелія, Саха і ще 13 республік, а також Кубань, Сибір, Далекий Схід та Уральська республіка. Коли відпаде зайве, суверенітет Росії зміцниться. І це не жарт. Вчорашня стаття Залужного і Забродського ще раз мене переконала в тому, що війна буде тривати доти, доки всередині цієї кривавої і знавіснілої імперії не настануть зміни.
Але справа в тому, що чим гірше ця війна складатиметься для рсні, тим більш неприйнятними ставатимуть їхні методи. Ядерний, газовий та зерновий шантаж, нелюдська жорстокість і теракти. До цього треба бути морально готовими. І морально готувати наших партнерів, які відвикли вже від середньовічної жорстокості. Підкидати шапки у повітря ще рано.
Прогнутись не можна. На шантаж піддатись не можна. Умиротворення терористів неможливе. Тільки тотальна перемога і колапс імперії врятують Європу та й весь світ.
