The State Emergency Service has successfully completed the testing of the modern Cell Broadcast public information system. Such a system is a global experience of informing the population about threats to their lives. I understand that the testing process that we started on September 7th caused a number of inconveniences and was covered with memes, but the huge number of technical solutions and issues that needed to be resolved required some time for testing. Last year, the implementation of this system was estimated at several million dollars and almost a year of time for all the work, but thanks to the joint efforts of mobile operators, the Ukrainian Association of Telecommunications Operators "Telas", manufacturers of mobile phones and smartphones, vendors of mobile communication equipment, world smartphone software providers, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection and many of our partners for the country, we implement this project on a free basis.
In the future, this system will go into experimental operation and will be used to send real signals about threats to Ukrainians. We, in cooperation with mobile phone manufacturers, are working on increasing the coverage of subscribers and expanding the number of devices that can receive notifications.
