According to former Spanish Foreign Minister Albert Piqué, the conflict in Ukraine has already ended. However, he believes that the situation will get worse due to the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also noted that the Ukrainian army has better military skills.
In his opinion, the actions of Putin have no longer been valid. He said that the morale of the Ukrainian troops has increased, which shows that they are better equipped and more capable of defeating the Russians. On the other hand, he expressed his concerns about the situation in Ukraine, especially due to the case of the Pesgasus. He noted that the situation should be resolved through mutual trust.
Despite Putin's claim that he has lost the war, he has warned that he will not acknowledge it and that the conflict will get worse. Piqué also stated that it will be very difficult for the parties to reach a ceasefire due to the number of months that remain in the conflict
He also noted that the situation in Ukraine will only get worse due to the country's continued capacity to resist the advances of Russia. He also stated that the international community will continue supporting Ukraine by sending arms. The PSOE also noted that the debate of the nation will be held in July, which will coincide with the NATO summit and the Andalusian elections.
In an interview with RTVE's Canal 24 Horas, Piqué stated that the invasion of Ukraine has strengthened the unity of the European Union and NATO. He also stressed the importance of preserving the concept of Ukraine, which, for generations, will be regarded as anti-Russian.
