Congratulations! Today I took out a 1 baht coin from my modest collection. It is the official currency of Thailand. It is divided into 100 satangs, and coins of the smallest denomination are no longer in circulation. The reason is the same inflation that, like a black hole, swallows the money of the world, leaving only banknotes and metal products for collectors.
At the current exchange rate, 1 baht is almost equal to one Ukrainian hryvnia. The coin with the ribbed band is made of steel. Therefore, it weighs quite a lot at a size of 20 mm, as much as 3 g.
The name of the coin comes from the measure of weight. Historians believe that the first baths were used in the 13th century. Then they gave 15 g of silver for one coin! This monetary system existed on the territory of the country for centuries. At the end of the 19th century, a new system was introduced and exchange coins appeared - satangas.
Portraits of rulers are usually depicted on the obverse side of coins, and temples are depicted on the other side. The obverse of the 1 baht in question is embossed with a portrait of King Rama 9. This series was issued from 2009 to 2017. The inscription หลิมลัวลัปยจิบ พลับติ้ม ๙ is inscribed around the circle.
On the other side, the 1 baht coin is decorated with a Buddhist temple. This is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, one of the largest shrines. It is located in the historical part of Bangkok. The denomination and the name of the country are indicated here.

Вітаю! Сьогодні дістав зі своєї скромної колекції монету номіналом 1 бат. Це офіційна валюта Таїланду. Поділяється вона на 100 сатангів, причому монети найменшого номіналу в обігу вже не перебувають. Причина — та ж сама інфляція, яка немов чорна дірка поглинає гроші світу, залишаючи лише банкноти та металеві вироби для колекціонерів.
По нинішньому курсу 1 бат майже дорівнює одній українській гривні. Монета з ребристим гуртом виготовлена зі сталі. Тому важить при розмірі 20 мм досить багато, аж 3 г.
Назва монети походить від міри ваги. Історики вважають, що перші бати використовували ще в 13 столітті. Тоді за одну монету давали 15 г срібла! Ця грошова система на території країни існувала століттями. В кінці 19 століття була запроваджена нова система й з'явились розмінні монети — сатанги.
На аверсах монет зазвичай зображені портрети правителів, а з іншого боку — храмів. На аверсі 1 бата, що розглядається, викарбуваний портрет короля Рами 9. Ця серія була випущена з 2009 по 2017. По колу нанесено напис ภูมิพลอดุลยเดช รัชกาลที่ ๙.
З іншого боку монету 1 бат прикрашає буддистський храм. Це Храм Смарагдового Будди, одна з найбільших святинь. Він розташований в історичній частині Бангкоку. Тут же вказано номінал та назву країни.
