Коли я тільки приїхала у Францію і ще не знала тутешнього "устрою", я здивувалась, коли не змогла потрапити у звичайний супермаркет у неділю. Я одразу дізналася, що в нас в неділю все закрито. Тому що в усіх людей - вихідний, зокрема, й працівників. Спочатку я подумала: так якби в мене був магазинчик або кафе, яке працювало б у неділю, мабуть, воно було б популярним. Але потім моя думка одразу змінилась: а хто піде працювати в такий заклад в неділю? Французи дуже цінують себе і свій вихідний недільний день, вони не рвуться на абияку роботу, аби працювати побільше часу. В них з роботою все гаразд, вистачить пропозицій і без неділі. А люди тільки косо подивляться, говорячи "Он ці власники змушують працювати бідних підлеглих у святу неділю". Можливо, такого й не було б, але приблизно така реальність - це факт.
Тому довелось звикати до того, що в неділю ні в який заклад ти не потрапиш (хіба що працює місцевий базарчик), якщо потрібні продукти - запасайся ними в суботу і взагалі, не плануй нічого на неділю)
Неділя - день для молитви (якщо заглиблюватись в етимологію слова dimanche французькою), день для проведення часу з сім'єю, день для відпочинку.
В мене тепер так і виходить - неділя - просто день, який я проводжу, можливо, дещо нудно, або просто неквапливо з дітьми. Сьогодні вони самі попросили поїхати на пляж. Ще й домовились, що будем там пити какао.

The French value themselves and their day off on Sunday very much, they do not rush into any work in order to work more time. Everything is fine with their work, there will be enough offers even without Sunday. And people will only look askance, saying "Oh, these owners make poor subordinates work on Holy Sunday." Perhaps such a thing would not happen, but approximately such a reality is a fact.
Therefore, I had to get used to the fact that on Sunday you will not get into any institution (unless the local bazaar is open), if you need products - stock up on them on Saturday and in general, do not plan anything for Sunday)
Sunday is a day for prayer (if you delve into the etymology of the word dimanche in French), a day for spending time with your family, a day for rest.
This is how it works for me now - Sunday is just a day that I spend, maybe somewhat boringly, or just leisurely with the children. Today they themselves asked to go to the beach. We also agreed that we would drink cocoa there.
