When my Twitter feed wall was flooding with crypto news and FUD, I was calculating my budget for the whole month. I have said before that I like to keep my expenses within the budget though it's not possible always. But at least groceries and utilities, I can control a little bit. I don't know whether anyone noticed it or not but suddenly I feel living costs and expenses have risen a lot after covid season. Covid is still with us and you won't notice so easily where your money is flowing until at the end of the month.
Let me give you the details.
Last Friday I went to the grocery store for weekly grocery shopping and I ended up paying 633.90 UAH (approx 20$) just for one week. Well, it was just the beginning because I knew I will buy many things during the entire week. 20$ is not that much money I know but according to Ukraine and wages, living cost of Ukraine, it's not cheap at all where people earn 300$ per month. It was just half of the grocery stuff and the bill was 633 UAH.
Considering how many average people are getting paid in one month, 20$ per week is pretty high because you need to buy many things throughout the entire week. Sometimes you go out for a coffee or maybe for dinner. Prices of food products, pet products increased a lot even utilities as well. I am writing about Kharkiv and I have heard KYIV is way more expensive than Kharkiv. Besides, the minimum salary in Kyiv is higher than in Kharkiv ofcourse.
Meat products price has increased and for beef, chicken 3 UAH has added with every KG. I mean if the price was 70UAH for 1 KG chicken, now it's 73 UAH minimum. Some superstores are expensive as well.
Competition is there so some brands offer good deals to their customers but I feel that doesn't help much at all. But one thing that caught my eyes, that was the price of Banana donuts. One donut is 14 UAH but it was 9 UAH 4 months ago and now 14 UAH, 5 UAH extra so you see how the price has risen in these few months.
I guess nothing can be done now and the price will go higher and higher as the days pass by. I wonder how middle-status/class people are surviving who earn less than 300$ per month. Maybe the price will be stable soon, who knows...
Until next time... Have a nice day everyone...
