"Good food, good life" that's all I believe. I can't think of a day without having food. Good food always changes my mood. I don't know about others but whenever I eat something good or my favourite dishes, I feel good. Every country has its own food culture and different people has a different taste. Some people like fish, some love meat and some like vegetables. I often wondered what exactly Ukrainians love to eat, well, I never got the chance to ask someone this question but I am really curious, to be honest. One of my friends eats almost everything except extreme foods like insects, weird things. But I don't eat everything, I eat specific foods maintaining religious perspectives.
90% of Bengali people love eating fishes but I am not among them, I don't like fishes. I eat some specific fishes. Even I try to maintain halal food habits or I avoid those which are prohibited for me like Pork. Now the real question is how I am surviving here as most of the food here is not exactly Halal.
Now I know many things about Kharkiv city and I know where I have to buy my types of food. In Kharkiv, unfortunately, not enough fresh fishes are available except some river fishes like Carps. Most of the seafood, sea fishes even river fishes are frozen. Most people buy dry fishes but I don't eat dry fishes. Ukrainian eat a lot of fish especially river fishes but I have never tasted any fishes except salmon.
The price of fish in Kharkiv is expensive and fishes like tuna and salmon are fucking expensive. Even I don't have the guts to taste seafood because of the high price. Sea bass is cheap according to other sea fishes. I love prawns but I always have to wait for the sale otherwise 100-gram prawns almost 5$ which is not cheap to me.
I don't know the name of most fishes and I never try to know. I am not vegetarian so I love eating chicken most.
Honestly speaking I don't know how to cook dry fishes but I saw many people here love dry fishes and always buy. Fish eggs are another expensive food which rarely people buy here. My dad always suggests me to taste fishes of Ukraine but I never feel interested in spending money on fish. I am such a fish hater, lol...
Fishes from the supermarket are not fresh at all, most of the fishes come from another city like Odessa. Some fishes come from the local rivers and lakes like carp.
I still don't know which fish Ukrainian people eat most after salmon, tuna, and eel. All I know they love to eat Verenyky a lot...
I have heard that Ukrainians love meat but I don't know if it is true or not but I eat meat a lot, mostly chicken and beef. I would say my food exploration world is limited to chicken and beef. All kinds of chicken and beef dishes I love.
I still don't have any idea of the food habits of Ukrainian but maybe soon I will start my own research...
