While walking through the center of Kyiv on Independence Day, I came across an open-air exhibition of the Ukrainian cinematographer-director and photo artist Serhiy Mykhalchuk on the territory of the Sofia Kyivska National Reserve.

Now, in a relatively peaceful and calm Kyiv, these photo works transport us to the terrible year 2022, when everything was held by the will and indomitability of the armed forces of Ukraine and volunteer formations.
Тоді кожного дня, завдяки таким же фотографам як і Сергій ми дізнавались про нові страшні злочини росіян на нашій землі та масштабні руйнування міст і сіл.
Then every day, thanks to photographers like Serhiy, we learned about new terrible crimes by russians on our land and large-scale destruction of Ukrainian cities and villages.
Мені подобається культурна місія Сергія, який у своїх роботах прагнув зафіксувати максимальну кількість візуальної інформації про цю війну, аби наступні покоління могли зробити висновки, і, можливо, уникнути вчинених помилок і прорахунків.
I like the cultural mission of Serhiy, who in his works strove to record the maximum amount of visual information about this war so that future generations could draw conclusions, and perhaps avoid the mistakes and miscalculations that were made.
Такі виставки змушують задуматися про пережите та усвідомити невизначеність майбутнього, адже багато наших співгромадян починають забувати, що війна ще далеко не закінчена і нікому невідомий її результат.
Such exhibitions make us think about the past and realize the uncertainty of the future, because many of our fellow citizens are beginning to forget that the war is far from over and no one knows its outcome.
А ще більше такі виставки дозволяють багато зрозуміти нашим європейським друзям та партнерам, які часто не розуміють, що таке мати на кордоні такого сусіда, як росія, яка ненавидить вас лише за те, що ви існуєте і готова вас через це вбити.
Moreover, such exhibitions allow our European friends and partners to understand a lot, who often do not understand what it is like to have such a neighbor as russia on the border, which hates you just because you exist and is ready to kill you because of it.
