Privet (hello), friends,
Today’s theme is Russia. Have you been to Russia? Or have you heard about this country? Just kidding everyone knows about Russia, or most of the people heard about this powerful country with its strong people.
I’ve visited Moscow at least once, then went to my friend in Belgorod, and I’ve been at the border of Russia when traveling to Ust-Kamenogorsk (Kazakhstan) by train.
Russian language is quite hard to learn as adult. Its grammar is hard even for people who are born in Russian speaking country.
I had one Canadian friend who couldn’t understand why when learning this language some things you have to simply memorize and no rules can apply. I think that happens in any language where rules don’t work, and people have to memorize certain words or spelling.
I teach my kids basic Russian, I want them at least understand it or even use in conversation and writing. I want them to be able to communicate if they travel to Eastern Europe one day. It’s really hard for them. When everything around is in English it’s hard to get motivated to learn a language that is not used at school or with friends.
