"Be willing to share your blessings. The only riches that last are the ones that are given away." - David Khalil
My pleasant greetings to the wonderful people of the Hive. How are you today? We have a few days left before Christmas day and I hope you are fine, safe, and in good health. Today's post is my entry to the weekly challenge of the Motherhood community initiated by which is about the struggles of being a Santa.
I don't know if Santa is real. But during my childhood, my mother told us that God is sending Santa on Christmas eve to grant wishes because God has been very busy during the Christmas season😂. Anyway, one thing I know for sure is that we can be Santa on our own.
As I shared in my post last time about my kid's wishes this Christmas, I negotiated with their uncle to buy them a wished gift (a small bicycle) on 23rd and deliver it to the house on Christmas eve. This way I could keep it a surprise for them until Christmas😅. So, I have not considered it a struggle at all. But what I am sharing today is the struggle of being a Santa to my children at school.
As their second parent, I am honored and loved to grant some of their wishes. However, as much as I wanted to give the best gift for them, the struggles also begin😅.
At first, I struggled with financial matters. My budget is limited and the prices nowadays are way too high and to think that I have 46 students in a class is indeed a struggle. But I worry no more when my husband told me that he will counterpart for the expenses, so I pushed the "Me being a Santa for a day" Christmas galore😅🥰.
Another struggle that I had as a Santa is wrapping the gifts😅! I had to wrap 46 surprise gifts (a little cash and school stuff) for my students. And my back and neck ached already after wrapping less than 20😅. So, I have decided to wrap only 46 and the rest stuff I bought would not be wrapped anymore.
My little gift of love to my children...🥰🎄✨
My Grade 7 students only knew as we agreed that we would have Spaghetti and Chicken Lumpia for our party. I did not promise anything to them, I just told them that I will be sharing what I could give on the day of our party.
What they don't know was that I already contacted some parents and handed a budget to them to cook additional food for the party (fried chicken and meatballs). I was also grateful that some parents sponsored "Maja de Blanca" and "Macaroni Salad" 💞🤤. (What a surprise, right? A lot of food awaits!)
Being Santa is not always the ones who give the gifts from his/ her personal expense but also the ones who deliver the gifts come from others. So its been my honor to deliver the gifts sponsored by my husband to my students 5 cases of soft drinks/ bottled soda and a karaoke (rented for Php 1,000). My students will be surprised for sure, not to mention that most of them love singing in karaoke😂 and so am I🤩.
That is all for now Hive friends! Wish me luck on the big day. Santa will be surely around😍😂. Thank you so much for reading. I hope you can somehow relate to my struggles😂. I am also thankful for your support by hitting reblog🥰. I would truly appreciate the effort.
See you in my next post! Sending my best regards and my warm big hugs🥰🤗.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!😍🎄✨💞
