Cuando emigré a Venezuela, tenía tan solo 8 años, estaba en cuarto grado y tuve que aprender mucho, no solo en la parte académica, en la cual tenía algunos conocimientos más avanzados, si no también en la parte cultural. Tuve que conocer la historia y celebrar costumbres Venezolanas, dejando atrás las de mi país, las cuales incluso con el pasar de los años, se volvieron completamente desconocidas para mí.
Ahora que estoy de retorno en Ecuador, son mis hijos los que han aprendido la cultura de aquí y quienes práctican las costumbres de este país, así que es a través de ellos que estoy aprendido a conocer a Ecuador, el lugar donde nací. Durante la semana pasada se celebró el día del Manabitismo, en honor a la provincia donde vivimos, Manabí, así que pude acompañar a mi hijo menor a una actividad de la escuela.

When I emigrated to Venezuela, I was only 8 years old, in the fourth grade, and I had to learn a lot, not only academically, where I had some more advanced knowledge, but also culturally. I had to learn about Venezuelan history and celebrate Venezuelan customs, leaving behind those of my country, which even over the years, became completely unknown to me.Now that I am back in Ecuador, my children are the ones who have learned the culture here and who practice the customs of this country. So, it is through them that I am learning to get to know Ecuador, the place where I was born. Last week, Manabitismo Day was celebrated in honor of the province where we live, Manabí, and I was able to accompany my youngest son to a school activity.
Manabí tiene una gastronomía espectacular, la cual espero ir poco a poco compartiendo con ustedes. Uno de los ingredientes principales es el plátano verde y ese era el stand que representaba el grado de Joaquín. También están los dulces de Rocafuerte, pero además el mejor café y maní que da Ecuador para exportación, se encuentra en Manabí, así que hay mucho para sentirse orgulloso de ser de esta provincia.

Manabí has a spectacular cuisine, which I hope to gradually share with you. One of the main ingredients is the green plantain, and that was the stand representing Joaquín's grade. There are also the sweets from Rocafuerte, as well as the best coffee and peanuts that Ecuador exports, which are found in Manabí. So, there is much to be proud of about being from this province.
Las maestras de cada nivel se destacaron armaron el Stand que representaría a su grado. Las mamitas aportamos nuestros utensilios Manabitas, para darles ese toque especial. Sombreros, tablas de picas, molinos, bol u ollas de barro, trajes típicos, banderas y mucho más, fueron también protagonistas de este evento, en el cual los niños pueden conocer su cultura y todo lo que la provincia donde viven aporta a la gastronomía.
Además de eso, los niños fueron vestidos acorde al festejo y los padres pudimos asistir y degustar de todas las delicias presentadas en casa Stand. Fue muy bonito compartir de este día como familia y además lograr el objetivo.

The teachers at each level stood out by setting up the stand that would represent their grade. We moms contributed our Manabí utensils to give it that special touch. Hats, chopping boards, mills, clay bowls or pots, traditional costumes, flags, and much more were also featured in this event, where the children could learn about their culture and everything the province they live in contributes to the cuisine.
In addition, the children dressed according to the celebration, and the parents were able to attend and taste all the delicacies presented at each stand. It was very nice to share this day as a family and also achieve the goal.
