On this day, a school year ends and a new one begins for my children, and I am filled with nostalgia and happiness to see how they have learned so many new things. It was a year of lessons, a lot of hard work, both at home and at school, and it is gratifying for me to know that so far I have done well as a mom.

I, as a mother, felt anxious and proud. While having breakfast, I was thinking about what the teachers would tell me and also about how my little ones have been putting in so much effort. Sometimes, just seeing them study for hours makes you feel like they are already winners, regardless of the outcome. But, of course, one expects those efforts to be reflected in the grades.

Finally, it's time to head to school, as it's close to me. I walked about two blocks, thinking about how they would turn out and what I would find in the report cards. Upon arriving at the school, the tension is palpable: some parents are nervous, others more relaxed, all waiting their turn to receive those report cards that will say a lot about the school year.

When my turn finally comes, the teacher shows me the documents I need to fill out for enrollment while she looks for the grades. The teacher tells me with a smile that I got excellent grades on the report cards; she wrote a note of congratulations. Hearing that made me so happy. There is nothing better than receiving kind words from the person who teaches your children. I thanked the teachers for all their effort and dedication.

On the way back home, I hugged and congratulated my children, brought them some delicious popsicles, and we had a conversation about the upcoming changes at school, about teachers and new rules. I feel so grateful to God for everything and for giving me the wisdom and understanding to handle this job of being a mother. Here are some photos I took. Hola, amigos de Hive, bienvenidos a mi blog. En este día se cierra un ciclo escolar y comienza uno nuevo para mis hijos, y me lleno de nostalgia y felicidad de ver cómo han aprendido tantas cosas nuevas. Fue un año de enseñanzas, de mucho trabajo, tanto en el hogar como en la escuela, y es gratificante para mí saber que hasta ahora lo he hecho bien como mamá.

Yo, como madre, me sentí ansiosa y orgullosa. Mientras desayunaba, iba pensando en qué me iban a decir las maestras y también en cómo mis chiquitos han estado esforzándose. A veces, solo con el hecho de verlos estudiar horas, uno siente que ya son triunfadores, sin importar el resultado que venga. Pero, claro, uno espera que esos esfuerzos se reflejen en las calificaciones.

Finalmente, llega la hora de salir hacia la escuela, ya que me queda cerca. Caminé unas dos cuadras, pensando en cómo iban a salir y sobre lo que me iba a encontrar en los boletines. Al llegar a la escuela, la tensión se siente en el aire: algunos padres nerviosos, otros más relajados, todos esperando su turno para recibir esos bolerines que dirán mucho sobre el año escolar.

Cuando finalmente llega mi turno, la maestra me indica los documentos que debo llenar para la inscripción mientras va buscando las notas. Me dice la maestra con una sonrisa que han salido excelentes en los boletines; escribió una nota de felicitaciones. Escuchar eso me hizo tan feliz. No hay nada mejor que recibir palabras bonitas de parte de quien les enseña a tus hijos. Le di las gracias a las maestras por todo su esfuerzo y por tanta vocación.

De regreso a casa, abracé y felicité a mis hijos, les llevé unas ricas paletas y tuvimos una conversación sobre los cambios que venían en el colegio, sobre maestros y nuevas reglas. Me siento tan agradecida con Dios por todo y por darme la sabiduría y entendimiento para saber llevar este trabajo de ser madre. Aquí les comparto unas fotos que me tomé.
