Saludos queridas madres y padres de esta comunidad, el pasado sábado fue la cirugía de Rafael y aunque solo han pasado 4 días ha sido todo un vaivén emocional y físico.
Greetings dear mothers and fathers of this community, last Saturday was Rafael's surgery and although only 4 days have passed it has been an emotional and physical ups and downs.
El día de la cirugía Rafael durmió mucho en el día por el efecto de la anestesia y los medicamentos, solo estaba despierto por breves periodos de tiempo y luego volvía tomar otra siesta, a pesar de la situación se encontraba de bien de animo, sin embargo todo cambió en la noche, tenía fiebre muy alta y esto me preocupó mucho, además de los medicamentos que el estaba tomando tuve que adicionalmente dale acetaminofen para intentar que la fiebre no continuara, la doctora dio la prescripción solo al día siguiente pero ya desde la noche le había dado la medicina para que intentara descansar.
The day of the surgery Rafael slept a lot during the day due to the effect of anesthesia and medications, he was only awake for short periods of time and then he would take another nap, despite the situation he was in good spirits, however everything changed in the night, he had a very high fever and this worried me a lot, in addition to the medications he was taking I had to additionally give him acetaminophen to try to stop the fever from continuing, the doctor gave the prescription only the next day but since night I had given him the medicine so that he could try to rest.
Fueron casi dos noches en vela cuidando la temperatura de Rafael, sin embargo la doctora me dijo que a veces los pacientes presentan fiebre luego de la cirugía, lo que más me preocupa ahora es que Rafael no quiere beber ni comer casi nada, solo toma algunos sorbos de agua o jugo y eso es todo, me rechaza el helado, la gelatina, el yogur, e incluso me rechaza las compotas, debí casi obligarlo para que tome un poco de pediasure, solo ayer empezó a tolerar comer pasta para bebés.
They spent almost two sleepless nights taking care of Rafael's temperature, however the doctor told me that sometimes patients have a fever after surgery, what worries me most now is that Rafael does not want to drink or eat almost anything, he only takes a few sips of water or juice and that's it, he refuses ice cream, jello, yogurt, and even compotes, I almost had to force him to take a little pediasure, only yesterday he began to tolerate eating baby pasta.
Hoy fue la consulta post operatoria con la doctora, pero había un apagón y pensé que no nos iban a atender pero si lo hicieron pasado un buen tiempo, tal como imaginé él ha perdido 1,5 kg de peso 😱, sin embargo la doctora miró su garganta y nariz y me dijo que la cicatrización va bien, me dijo que debía hacerle una biopsia a las amígdalas que le sacaron a Rafael pero sinceramente no he salido de casa por cuidar a Rafael, así que aun no la he hecho, es pero hacerla y poder llevar el resultado a la próxima consulta dentro de dos semanas.
Today was the post-op consultation with the doctor, but there was a blackout and I thought they weren't going to attend to us but they did after a long time, just as I imagined he has lost 1.5 kg of weight 😱, however the doctor looked his throat and nose and he told me that the healing is going well, he told me that I should do a biopsy of the tonsils that were removed from Rafael but honestly I haven't left the house to take care of Rafael, so I haven't done it yet, it is but do it and be able to take the result to the next consultation in two weeks.
Yo solo espero que a Rafael deje de tener tanto dolor al tragar y que pueda ir tolerando la comida, porque me preocupa mucho su peso y su desánimo en general, el estaba bien al salir de la casa a la consulta y en la espera allí se cansó muy rápido, se mostraba fatigado, decaído e incluso de mal humor.
I only hope that Rafael stops having so much pain when swallowing and that he can tolerate food, because I am very concerned about his weight and his general discouragement, he was fine when he left the house for the consultation and while waiting there he he tired very quickly, he seemed fatigued, listless and even in a bad mood.
Espero que pronto mi hijo esté al 100% y que en la próxima consulta el haya recuperado el peso y le den la aprobación para regresar a su actividad escolar.
I hope that soon my son will be 100% fit and that at the next visit he will have regained his weight and be given the approval to return to his school activity.
