Saludos queridas madres y padres de Hive, llegó el último día de carnaval y yo ni me había dado cuenta, mi hijo pasó el día de ayer con nosotros en el río y de regreso a casa vimos de lejos el desfile de carnaval de la ciudad, este se celebra en dos días por lo que Rafael me dijo que el quería ir a ver el desfile hoy pero quería ir disfrazado como los demás niños, 😱 como es carnaval ningún establecimiento estaba abierto así que me tocó resolver con lo que tenia en casa, al final hice para él un disfraz de Batman completamente improvisado, acá les cuento como lo hice.
Greetings dear mothers and fathers of Hive, the last day of carnival arrived and I had not even realized it, my son spent yesterday with us in the river and on the way home we saw the city's carnival parade from afar, this is celebrated in two days so Rafael told me that he wanted to go see the parade today but he wanted to go dressed up like the other children, 😱 as it is carnival no establishment was open so I had to solve with what I had at home, In the end I made a completely improvised Batman costume for him, here I tell you how I did it.
Lo primero que hice fue pensar que tenía a mi disposición, se me ocurrió hacer un disfraz de Batman aprovechando que Rafael tiene un pantalón negro, busqué en mi ropa y encontré una camiseta manga larga cuello de tortuga que hace un tiempo que no uso porque unas hormigas le hicieron unos agujeros pequeños , entonces le medí esa camiseta a Rafael y le quedó, solo debí doblar un poco las mangas, ahora debería pensar como hacer el logo del Batman para el pecho, pensé en pintarlo o tal vez usar foami pero estas opciones quedaron descartadas cuando vi que tenía muy poco foami y solo tenía pintura normal, es decir no tenía pintura para tela. Pero las casualidades a veces parecen hechas a propósito, esta semana compré una nueva lonchera para Rafael porque la anterior ya estaba pidiendo jubilación, recordé que la vieja lonchera tenia un parche de Batman que yo le cosí a mano, entonces busqué la lonchera, le descosí el parche, lo coloqué con alfileres sobre la camiseta y luego lo cosí a mano.
The first thing I did was think that I had at my disposal, it occurred to me to make a Batman costume taking advantage of the fact that Rafael has black pants, I looked in my clothes and found a long-sleeved turtleneck shirt that I haven't worn for a while because some ants made some small holes in it, so I measured Rafael that shirt and it fit him, I just had to fold the sleeves a little, now I should think about how to make the Batman logo for the chest, I thought about painting it or maybe using foami but these options They were discarded when I saw that I had very little foam and I only had normal paint, that is, I didn't have fabric paint. But coincidences sometimes seem to be done on purpose, this week I bought a new lunchbox for Rafael because the previous one was already asking for retirement, I remembered that the old lunchbox had a Batman patch that I sewed by hand, so I looked for the lunchbox, I unstitched it the patch, I pinned it onto the shirt and then sewed it on by hand.
Luego tenía que hacer el cinturón pero tenía muy poco foami amarillo, se me ocurrió entonces solo hacer el logo, para eso dibuje un rectángulo de papel de 6 X 9 cm lo doblé en 4 parte para que al cortar la esquina de forma redondeada se obtuviera un ovalo, luego dibuje solo un lado del logo del murciélago y al doblar el papel marque el otro lado para completar el logo, esto me serviría de plantilla.
Then I had to make the belt but I had very little yellow foami, so it occurred to me to just make the logo, for that I drew a 6 X 9 cm rectangle of paper I folded it in 4 parts so that when I cut the corner in a rounded way it would be obtained an oval, then draw only one side of the bat logo and when folding the paper mark the other side to complete the logo, this would serve as a template.
Dibujé el logo en el foami, lo pinté con pintura al frío negra y lo corté con una tijera, luego de hacer esto me di cuenta que podría hacer la parte del frente del cinturón, de forma tal que al pegar rectángulos por la parte de atrás me permitieran sujetar el cinturón al verdadero cinturón negro de Rafael, con eso en mente pegué el logo y también unos pequeños rectángulos de foami pintados como bolsillos al cinturón.
I drew the logo on the foami, I painted it with black cold paint and cut it with scissors, after doing this I realized that I could make the front part of the belt, in such a way that by gluing rectangles on the back allow me to attach the belt to the real Rafael black belt, with that in mind I glued the logo and also some small rectangles of foami painted as pockets to the belt.
Para hacer la máscara de Batman dibujé y corte un molde en una hoja de papel, luego con un lápiz dibuje la silueta en una cartulina de reciclaje, Rafael me ayudó a pintar primero dos capaz de pintura blanca y luego tres capaz de pintura negra para que todo quedara bien prolijo.
To make the Batman mask I drew and cut a mold on a sheet of paper, then with a pencil I drew the silhouette on a recycled cardboard, Rafael helped me paint first two layers of white paint and then three layers of black paint so that everything will be neat.
Luego con un elástico también reciclado de unos 23cm, cosí las puntas a dos rectángulos de tela, luego con pega para tela pegué el elástico a la máscara.
Then with a recycled elastic of about 23cm, I sewed the ends to two rectangles of fabric, then with fabric glue I glued the elastic to the mask.
En diciembre compré unas sábanas negras para mi cama pero estas son de tamaño matrimonial mientras que mi cama es individual, así que había decidido cortar las sábanas y hacer unas sábanas tipo esquinero de tamaño individual, este trabajo es tedioso porque es una cantidad grande de tela para medir , cortar y coser, así que estaba postergando ese trabajo porque no me gusta hacerlo, sin embargo pensé que si lo hacía la tela sobrante podría servir para la capa que necesitaba el disfraz, así que lo hice y obtuve la tela suficiente para hacer la capa, la cual dibujé corte y cosí, dejando espacio para pasar una tira de tela para sujetarla.
In December I bought some black sheets for my bed but these are full size while my bed is single, so I had decided to cut the sheets and make some single size corner sheets, this job is tedious because it is a large amount of fabric to measure, cut and sew, so I was putting off that work because I don't like to do it, however I thought that if I did it the leftover fabric could be used for the cape that the costume needed, so I did it and I got enough fabric to make the cape, which I drew, cut and sewed, leaving room to pass a strip of fabric to hold it.
Rafael no podía creer que de la nada logramos hacer el disfraz, me abrazó y me dijo “Gracias Mami” para mi no hay mayor recompensa que esa y su gran sonrisa ☺ 💕
Rafael couldn't believe that out of nowhere we managed to make the costume, he hugged me and said "Thank you Mommy" for me there is no greater reward than that and his big smile ☺ 💕
