The first day of school can be a scary one, but your strength and perseverance are greater than your fears - Anonymous
Good day, gorgeous people of Hive! I am going to share with you my little school boy named, Allison Bill, and his everyday routine. Thanking him in everyday how thankful and privileged I am to be his mom.
I am pretty sure other mothers here can relate to what I've been through having a child already going to school.
My son started school at 4 years old as daycare (kindergarten 1 in private) and that was pandemic and have to get his modules every week. As a working mom, I have to manage my time well to meet his teacher regarding his modules and other matters.
The struggle is there when I teach him and don't want to participate. He would prefer to play rather than study. I just let him play because it's their nature, that they have the least attention span. However, there were times when he listened to me and do all his activities in modules.
By the time he graduated from daycare, they met with their teacher for a pictorial and plan for marching in March yet another memo had been released for no gathering due to Covid-19. So, it was canceled. As for the pictures, it was expectation versus reality, lol.
Now, he is 5 years old, ready for Kindergarten in the public school where I also teach. So here's his everyday routine.
Morning Routine
Every morning from 5:40 to 6 am we're already up and I let him fix our bed as his morning exercise and to let him know that kind of routine. Then, going to the bath is his next: urinating, pooping, and then taking his bath.
Let's eat! ๐ด
Breakfast is a very important meal in the day so I prepared food for him. His favorites were ham, fish, and chicken. I let my daughter join us in eating as well as in the bath (because she always wanted to go to school with his brother, how sweet๐ฅฐ).
Every Monday to Thursday, he wore his school uniform and enthusiastically received it as I changed him after eating.
This is his attire on Fridays. But there is a change in school protocol that wash day is on Wednesdays.
There were times that I requested a song that they usually sang or do in their classroom. Energetic huh?๐ค๐
Let's go to school!
Every day, this serves our pathway when it is not because of our curiosity and eagerness to find a nearer way to the national road. We have to go through bushy grasses that are taller than us.
This is our situation during the rainy season. The hustle brought us because we have to bring an umbrella and have to wear plastic on our shoes. Although we have boots we didn't use them in the sense that we don't have someone or a place to hide them near the road. So, it's better to use plastics than throw them in the proper bin.
In the school
This is his cousin, who is always with him. His best buddy and they always play. Even though there were times that they have misunderstandings but they eventually lost the feelings of hatred. During the first day of classes, he wanted me to send him to the classroom, which I wanted to do because it was his first. What I was amazed about was that, he's eager in school (what a lovely boy) and open to learning.
Then, after a week I wanted to send him to his classroom however he said, Mama, ako lang (Mama, I wanted to go alone in the classroom) like what? Are you serious son? and he said, yes. I let him walk alone, but I followed him secretly.
What I was amazed by was that he went straight to his classroom. I almost cried that he's already big๐ญ. I'm not crying that his big now, but I can't control the time and still imagining those times when he was still a baby (hmmm.. I miss those times). Anyway, we have to move forward.
At Home
At home, they always play with his sister, Alianna Ashrich. The joy they felt when they were together.
Study time! We also have study time when of course he has assignments. At his age, he's still learning those alphabets, numbers (especially with two joining numbers), and others because in the first place he started talking at the age of 3. So, he can hardly speak those appropriate words to tell in our dialect.
Him, as a good brother and a good son
I am proud of him, though he is naughty at times but later realizes his bad doings and would, later on, said let's pray Mama, or else my daughter will first say, pray, then murmur.
This is when they played something and argued and it came to the point that they cried both. So, I told them to say sorry to each other and hug.
The happiness our children bring may bind our family tighter and stronger. They were our source of strength every day as we leap onto our work. They were the reason for all the reasons why we aim high. So, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING MY CHILDREN and I LOVE YOU BOTH.
