PREPARÁNDONOS PARA EL INICIO DE CLASES / PREPARING FOR START SCHOOL

Hola comunidad de Motherhood! En esta ocasión quisiera platicarles sobre los preparativos que estamos haciendo para el inicio de clases de mi hijo. Adam iniciará primer año de preescolar en 6 días, así que hemos estado preparándonos desde hace tiempo.

Hello Motherhood community! On this occasion I would like to tell you about the preparations we are making for the start of my son's classes. Adam will be starting his first year of preschool in 6 days, so we have been preparing for a long time.

Lo que tenemos desde hace mucho son la mochila y la lonchera. La lonchera ya la teníamos desde el año pasado porque Adam estuvo llendo a la misma escuela pero en el área de maternal, desafortunadamente por el inicio de la pandemia dejó de ir. La mochila la compramos hace unos meses porque Adam quería esa mochila que habíamos visto en una publicidad, sin embargo muy pronto se agotó, así que en una visita reciente a la tienda la vimos y decidimos comprarla sin dejar pasar más tiempo.

What we have had for a long time are the backpack and the lunch box. We already had the lunch box since last year because Adam was going to the same school but in the nursery area, unfortunately because of the pandemic, he stopped going. We bought the backpack a few months ago because Adam wanted that backpack that we had seen in an advertisement, however very soon it sold out, so on a recent visit to the store we saw it and decided to buy it without letting more time pass.

En cuanto al uniforme, teníamos el del año pasado y aún le queda, tenía en mente comprarle uno o dos más, pero en la escuela me comentaron que este año no llevarían uniforme, solamente irían con playera blanca, pantalón de mezclilla azul y tenis blancos. Los tenis ya los tenía porque sabía que pedían tenis blancos, así que hace unas semanas se los compré. En cuanto a la ropa, tuvimos que buscar, las playeras las encontré rápidamente en la primer tienda a la que fui.

As for the uniform, we had the one from last year and he still has it left, I had in mind to buy him one or two more, but at school they told me that this year they would not wear a uniform, they would only wear a white shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes . He already had the tennis shoes because I knew they were asking for white tennis shoes, so I bought them a few weeks ago. As for the clothes, we had to search, the shirts I found quickly in the first store I went to.

Los pantalones tuve que comprarle ya que solo tenía uno de color café y otro azul pero este último ya le quedaba un poco corto porque los últimos meses ha crecido bastante! Y como estamos en verano, la mayor parte del tiempo anda en shorts. Si batallé un poco con los pantalones ya que no me gustaban mucho cómo se le veían puestos, no había mucha variedad y eso que fui a varias tiendas, al final decidí comprarle dos que más o menos me convencieron.

I had to buy her pants 'cause he only had one brown and one blue but the latter was already a bit short because in recent months she has grown a lot! And since we are in summer, most of the time she is wearing shorts. I struggled a bit with the pants since I didn't really like how they looked on her, there wasn't much variety and I went to several stores, in the end I decided to buy her two that more or less convinced me.

Respecto a los útiles escolares, el colegio no pide lista de útiles, solamente pagas el material y ellos se encargan. Posteriormente cuando entran a clases te entregan el material para etiquetar todo con el nombre del niño y forrar cuadernos. A mi parecer deberían entregar el material antes del inicio de clases para hacer esto con calma 🤷🏻‍♀️ Así que aún no sé que tanto vaya a tener qué etiquetar o forrar, o de qué color irán los cuadernos.

Regarding school supplies, the school doesn't ask for a list of supplies, you only pay for the material and they buy it. Later when they start classes they give you the material to label everything with the child's name and cover notebooks. In my opinion they should deliver the material before the start of classes to do this calmly 🤷🏻‍♀️ So I still don't know how much I will have to label or cover, or what color the notebooks will be.

Eso sí, mi hijo y yo estamos muy emocionados por el inicio de clases! Él dice que está feliz pero con un poco de miedo, que sé que se le irá quitando a los pocos días, cuando conozca a sus compañeros y vea lo divertido que es ir a la escuela 🥰

Of course, my son and I are very excited about the start of school! He says he's happy but a little scared, which I know will go away in a few days, when he meets his classmates and sees how much fun it is to go to school 🥰
