Hello, Hivers around the world! I wish you're doing well. ☺️
Today, I'm gonna share with you my journey about motherhood plus the tips on what are the things to prepare at home to ease your child's discomfort during hard times, like sickness especially during night time, block out/brownout, and when they travel somewhere.
MAMA, MOM, MOMMY
MOTHER is a simple word but has the hardest role to contribute to the lives of her children. Every time I read about this word I always smile because I know how fulfilling becoming a mother is despite the hardships you may encounter. It's not easy to take care of a baby especially if they get sick. But I can prove that a mother is called a SUPERMOM.
Imagine you may not sleep straight at night from the start you have your newborn until 2-3 years old. How much more during teething? Who can relate? So, to all mothers out there, you are very much appreciated. Other people called it the hardest job to do.
After my marriage with the love of my life, it took me almost 9 months to have a baby.
AT LAST.....
The time when I held my firstborn in my hands for the first time in the hospital, was the time I had mixed emotions. First, I was afraid because I didn't even know how to carry her properly; I had zero experience in taking care of a baby. Second, I even find it hard to change diapers for her. Lastly, It was hard because I still had the dextrose in my hand when I started taking care of her.
Luckily, the nurses taught me how. My salute to all the nurses and doctors out there! It's so unbelievable that at the age of 29 I've never learned that. 😂😢
When we were discharged from the hospital and went home it was the start of the harder experience of my motherhood journey as I had to adjust my sleeping path. From an 8 hour of sleep during pregnancy to only 3 hours of sleep at night. I was so stressed that I haven't experienced the feeling of the happiest mother in the universe for the first few months. Until such time that when my baby is growing up I was able to grow also as a parent or a mother. I learned to take care of her by myself because my mother went home eventually because of some business.
It's really an adjustment period for me because only me and my husband took care of her. But I am the only one who wakes up during midnight to feed her and carry her if she needs my warmth love. That's the reason why I had my postpartum depression and the worse is I experienced a skin disease called..... That was the saddest moment because I cannot breastfeed her anymore because of the medicine I intake. So I have to feed her with formulated milk up to this day.
As the days, months and years passed by I tried my best to adapt and learn that as a mother my role is to sacrifice everything just for the betterment of my child even if it takes my whole life through.
A lot of lessons have been imparted through this journey as I have learned to be a "wise mom."
❣️THINGS TO PREPARE FROM A SUPERMOM TO HER BABY
⏳SOME MEDICINES
It's so essential to prepare this for me to apply immediately in case it's needed especially during nighttime in which all the pharmacies and stores near our house are closed.
🗑HERBAL MEDICINE
I make sure I plant herbal plants in the backyard, especially for runny noses and coughs. SUGAR-APPLE for runny nose and OREGANO for cough. Natural plants are also good for your health for there are no preservatives/other chemicals added to them. If your place doesn't have some space to plant for, you can have it on a pot or you can recycle any big unused container at home.
MINI FAN OR RECHARGEABLE FAN
One thing I've learned from block out/brownout is to prepare a fan without hassling your hands and arms.😁 If you don't have it, for sure it will bother you and can't sleep well.
🔋POWER BANK
It's very important to have this to maintain power to your mini fan. Sometimes we don't know the time when the electricity will be back. Just make sure it's full before use for longer power usage.
🚗BAG FOR TRAVELLING
Travelling is one of my child's happiness because it'll let her explore the world and at the same time learn from what she sees. She always gets excited whenever we let her go to some places she can run and swim into. That is why I make sure her bag is always ready.
Inside my child's bag are the following: clothes, towels, a small pillow, medicines, distilled/purified water, thermos (optional), milk, milk bottle, diaper, and wet wipes. Every time we travel we always make sure not to forget the needed paraphernalia for my baby. Some of these things excluding milk are always kept in the bag in case of emergency.
🔦RECHARGEABLE FLASHLIGHT
You can't see how beautiful the world is unless you have a light that lets you see the world. I chose a rechargeable flashlight in order for us to continuously use it until the electricity comes back. So, the power bank is one of the greatest contributors to my baby's comfort.
Those are only a few things that I've experienced I have to prepare at home for my child. If there are things that you can add and share, you can comment down below. For sure it would be of great help for me and for my baby.
