Here in the Philippines, students' vacation is almost done. (It's students' vacation only because some teachers don't have 🤣.) The opening of the school year 2023-2024 is fast approaching and to the parents out there, we only have a couple of days to buy and prepare our kids for school.
One of the struggles we are going to face is that the prices of school supplies doubled or tripled compared to last year. I experienced it as we had our school supplies shopping yesterday. Stay with me for a while as I will share our shopping for my kids' school stuff which I considered one of my duties as a mother.
To the New Store, We Go
We brought the Kids to the City nearest to our town to have school stuff shopping. I already told them weeks ago that we will have a shopping before the school opening together with them so that they can choose what they like. As usual, they kept on asking almost every day when that would be, and the awaited day came. I brought them to the newest mall in Bogo City, the J & L Shopping Center. This was our first time in this store, and we are all excited to see what is inside.
When we came to the store, Daddy decided to stay outside to watch the multi-cab. We had things we bought a while ago inside it, and he was afraid some bad guys would come inside and steal them. Aside from that, we mothers are good at shopping than our husbands 😂. Will you agree with me?
On the Ground Floor
So, I left Janneah also to Daddy and brought Jewel with me inside the store. The time we entered, Jewel got so very excited and immediately run to where the school supplies were to see what things she could have for school. She is going to be in Grade 3 this year 😍.
The first ones we looked for were the notebooks, but all left there were big notebooks and not for the elementary level, specifically for Grades 3 and Kindergarten. I think we're too late for the notebooks. They are already out of stock. In the same area, we saw the plastic portfolio and picked two in different colors, pink and purple. Purple is Jewel's favorite color while pink is Janneah's.
Next on the other side of the school supplies area, we saw water glues and pick two of its colors pink and green since there was no purple available. I have to pick different colors so that they would easily know which of them is theirs.
Last, in this area is Janneah's pencil case of course was looking for pink. Jewel had her old pencil case already and it is in good condition.
Oops, this is not a school thing 🤣.
I tried not to look to another thing but I can't resist the womanness inside me hahaha..excuse for the term.
We then proceed to the section that was so very colorful to the eyes. I was looking for a flowerpot to put plants on it and place in our toilet. This was the only thing that I bought in addition to their school supplies.
We needed the help of the sales lady to find what we were looking for. At last, I decided what to choose and there it was 🤣. I put a snake plant on it.
Second Floor
Next were the school shoes and bag on the second floor. Jewel keeps on going before me because she was excited to explore the new store and that she will be the one to choose what to buy.
We look for the school shoes and there it was. Gladly they are 10% off that day, it is already a big save.
Jewel immediately saw where the school shoes are and joyfully gaze her eyes on the different shoes being displayed. She also saw a bag for her little sister and put it in our shopping basket.
We need Janneah's presence in buying her school shoes so that she could have the perfect size for her. So, I went down and got her from Daddy outside the store. With a big smile on her face, I felt how happy she was. I know I can't buy all she wants but with all my best, as a mother, as parents, we will provide all their needs no matter the cost.
A Mother on Duty
Since Janneah was too young to choose what was good for her, I need to guide her all the way. This time, on what's fit for her.
After we had chosen her school shoes and a few pairs of socks, we head to the school uniform and tried some blouses on her. My baby has grown up and will be officially enrolled in kindergarten. Do you feel that feeling every time you'd realize that your kids have grown up so fast?
Had chosen two blouses for Janneah and the last were the hots in the second picture above. As I look at the shopping basket, I realized we had to go to the counter at that moment..haha. And I paid 2,333.70 Php 😟.
I wasn't able to buy something for myself, but it was really fine. As a mother, buying things for your kids is worth more than buying things for your own. That feeling of mission accomplished 😁 complete my person as a mother and that is more than enough!
That is all for this blog. Thank you for the time spent with me. Until next time, with love mommyjane 😘.
