Hello mummies and daddies! Season greetings from me and the kids to you. It's 5 days away from Christmas, I can hear the Christmas songs more often than before, the Christmas bliss is on every corner..the jingle bells, the Santa songs, the baby Jesus songs, the decorations in different stores, streets, and houses, the Christmas lights shining 🌟🌟 everywhere. Many people are already tuned in this season and that's so much fun to behold❤️.
The presence of the kids makes the celebration 🎉🎉 become more fun because they are always coming up with crazy ideas and questions 😂 that I wouldn't know how to handle 🤦, but it's all good. That's also part of the fun and love of Christmas.
Two weeks ago, the kids were asked to write a letter to Santa requesting what they need as Christmas gifts. Trust me, my kids wrote theirs with so much enthusiasm asking me over and over again if Santa will provide their needs as they requested. You can read the letter from this Post.
Mummy-Santa and the struggles of gift giving...
My kids and I
Honestly, the struggles of getting their gift have been a real one for me. While some parents have it difficult hiding the present as I read in some entries already, I
have it difficult to even buy mine because my kids want big expensive things which I can't afford as of today. There were many things they requested vis;
- a bouncy castle and a swing.
- three children's cars to play with during the holiday.
- Lastly, a toy city with people in it, then a spiderman phone to call for help so that spiderman will save their toy city in case of danger.
Hmmm, explaining to the kids the limitations of getting the gift wasn't easy. They are still small and couldn't understand better when I told them about the financial challenges mummy and daddy have been experiencing. They couldn't understand what I meant by the present economy and how I want to focus on other pressing needs pending when I will be able to afford theirs. When we went to their school party on the 10th of December 2022, they were happy to see what looked like the real Santa Claus and were highly anticipating their present 🎁 on that day because they have already written the letter before the party. Unfortunately, they received just juice and a lollipop from the so-called Santa...Lolz.
They came home and asked me why the Santa in their school didn't give them all the gifts they wrote in the letter. It was a difficult situation for me to convince them of the truth about Santa. Now, I made them know that I am actually the mummy Santa but unfortunately, their request is on the high side. However, I stepped out to see what I can get from the list. ..then I visited one of my husband's friend's stores and found these children's cars 👇👇
The cost of the cars scared me away...it's plenty of dollars 😉 💰. I made a deposit and my husband promised to complete the payment for just one car hopefully, the seller will supply it on Christmas morning and they can play together with it.
To put a little smile on their faces, I got a pack of Lolipop for them while awaiting their Santa present.
As you can see, the struggles have been real from my end but magically, they are dancing to my tune now with all my explanations, hopefully, they should get their full presents 🎁 in no distance time.
