Living an island life here in Seychelles is one of the most amazing parts after a busy weekday, hence we took our baby for a dip in the early morning on a Saturday. The beach was still so quiet as mostly the locals or partygoers here including the tourists were still in their respective abode. Usually, on a weekend, the beach is jampacked with people, so if you prefer a solemn day relaxing, then the best option is to come at the earliest possible time.
Sage had the best time of his life splashing water on the rock situated in the nearby shoreline. He wanted to check on it, grabbed my wrist, said, "mommy rock?"
There was an area on it where you could do a mini-slide as it was a bit slippery, yet I have to guide him through for his safety. He's just so excited to have a dip, looking around waiting for the waves at the same time. His daddy as our official photographer that day managed to take some random shots wherein Sage couldn't contain his happiness on top of the rock. Our baby's joy was our main priority and seen him so ecstatic even with the splashing of the waves was more than enough to have that feeling of fullfilment as a first-time parent. The joy was incomparable spending time together as a family on the beach as our weekend getaway.
The simplicity of life in Mahe, emerging ourselves with the timeless beauty of nature in the country, gives more opportunity to our baby in terms of his witty identification on sea creatures so it was easier to teach him fish, crab, shark, dolphin, starfish, waves, sand, beach and boat among the words he abruptly said as soon as we were on the beach that day. Mentioning those words repeatedly, was a lot easier until such time he can fully remember them.
Exposing Sage to more realistic objects made him keener on the things he's surrounded with. I have observed his ability to identify things easily when he could relate to them like for example the beach, the boat, the waves, the fish, and oh also the 'the CRAB". Although the letter "r" is quite difficult for him to say instead he said, "kub" the same as how he named his dog Ramboo as Baboo. Whenever we're on the shoreline, he would momentarily utter "crab." At first, he's a bit scared as we told him it might bite him, yet when he'd seen it was harmless, in the end, he's chasing after them
I compiled our weekend activity that day on my video here entitled Beach Day with Mommy and Daddy
