Do you know that the kids don't understand sarcasm? Do you know that till around 10 years they truly believe that their parents say only the pure truth?
Do you always tell the truth to your kids or sometimes you try that "little white lies"?
Well when I was little I didn't know that.
Let me tell you one story that I will never forget in my life.
I have a sister, she is 3 years younger than me. So back in the days, we lived in a big apartment with almost 4 bedrooms.
Since my sister was born I wanted to hold her, to hug her - she doesn't. So... I was around 5 ... hot summer... guess I was with shorts and in one moment in my evil plan to hug her (I don't remember that part) she bit me on the inner part of the hip. I ran into the dining room there was one bed there and I jumped to cry alone (the dining room had connected the "black kitchen" (the room where were the cooker, the fridge, the laundry machine, and the sink) - my mom was cooking something. So heard me and said something like "OMG now all your guts(all the parts from the stomach) will fall from the hole from the bite". Guess I started crying and shouting "Put them back, I don't wanna lose them". Around 5 minutes she let me crying with the idea that I'm dying without guts. Then she started laughing, that she made fun of me.
Now with kids, I am really careful what I say and I try to not allow "gates" in my speech where it could be 2-3 meanings when I talk to them.
The saddest thing maybe is that at one moment I will have to say something like that.
But for now, I think that there is a long time till that moment.
