Greetings,
Dear friends, I'm here to share my day with you. I know I don't often use these spaces, but today is a special occasion.
Today I accompanied my daughter to her sports activities. My daughter is 11 years old and has been training in volleyball for the last few months, but a few weeks ago she was asked to join the state baseball team, better known in Venezuela as pelotica de goma.
Thank God she is a very active girl and likes to participate in everything she is offered and is always ready to learn. This sport is not so demanding; in fact, it was only recently decreed a sport, as it was always a street game.
Today was all about training and strengthening, since they ended up winning the game they borrowed the court for, and this Saturday they are playing in the tournament final.
For a moment, I thought they were being asked to do too much, but this week is already coming to an end.
After warming up, the coach threw him the ball for a while so he could get used to bending down low enough and not letting the ball get past him.
After a while, he had him bounce the ball off the wall and catch it, and to put a little pressure on him, he told him that for every ball he didn't catch, he had to do sit-ups (although he missed a few and I didn't see any sit-ups).
He had a lot of fun during this training session, but he also got really tired. I could see from the stands that his face was as red as a tomato 🤣. But that wasn't the end of it, as it was time for the next training session, where he had to hit the ball against the wall and then catch it.
He did well for a while, but you could see that he was getting tired from the effort of hitting the ball.
At the end of the training session, the coach gave her some guidelines to follow so she could practice a little at home and lent her a ball to practice with against the wall. During this training session, I remembered some techniques from when I played in the afternoons as a child, and I plan to share them with her so she can be more successful in her final games.
Thank you for joining me, and may God bless you greatly so that you can enjoy your children...

Saludos,
