Intolerancia a la lactosa /Vida de Mamá [ ESP– ENG ]

Hola amigas de Motherhood, hoy quiero hablarles de un tema que de seguro ha preocupado a muchos padres y ha sido motivo de varias consultas para sus hijos como lo es la intolerancia a la lactosa, a mí me hizo sufrir mucho durante los primeros años de vida de mi bebé y es bastante difícil llegar a la conclusión de que un bebé es intolerante o no, y más si no se cuenta con los medios necesarios para poder hacer las pruebas de alergia, en mi caso descubrir esto necesito muchos días de llanto y trasnochos en mi bebé.

Hello friends of Motherhood, today I want to talk to you about a topic that surely has worried many parents and has been the cause of several consultations for their children as it is lactose intolerance, to me it made me suffer a lot during the first years of life of my baby and it is quite difficult to conclude that a baby is intolerant or not, and more if you do not have the means to do allergy tests, in my case to discover this I need many days of crying and late nights in my baby.

Cuando un niño comienza con problemas estomacales, lo menos que imaginamos es que es intolerante a la lactosa, siempre se piensa en otras causas, parásitos, quizás el biberón, mala postura para alimentar, malos hábitos del bebé que traga aire y así muchos más, todas estas fueron posibles causas que me dieron los médicos, para ver qué era lo que tenía mi hijo, recuerdo que yo compraba biberones especiales y chupas especiales antigases para mi bebé, pero nada de eso funcionó.

Al igual que todos los niños, mi hijo fue medicado con leche normal de recién nacido, y como ustedes saben él no pudo ser amamantado, es decir solo dependía de la leche formulada, en ese momento recuerdo que aproveché para comprar muchos potes de leche, con el tiempo supe que había sido un error, porque a los pocos días, mi hijo empezó a tener muchos cólicos, retortijones y dolor de estómago, se pasaba horas llorando y recuerdo que fue medicado con paracetamol pediátrico y antifón.

When a child starts with stomach problems, the least we imagine is that he is lactose intolerant, we always think of other causes, parasites, maybe the bottle, bad feeding posture, bad habits of the baby that swallows air and so many more, all these were possible causes that the doctors gave me, to see what my son had, I remember that I bought special bottles and special anti gas pacifiers for my baby, but none of that worked.

Like all children, my son was medicated with normal newborn milk, and as you know he could not be breastfed, that is to say he only depended on formulated milk, at that time I remember that I took the opportunity to buy many pots of milk, with time I knew it had been a mistake, because a few days later, my son began to have a lot of colic, cramps and stomach pain, he spent hours crying and I remember he was medicated with pediatric paracetamol and antiphon.

Esta situación siguió empeorando con el tiempo y después de constantes visitas al pediatra, él decidió cambiarle la leche para usar una fórmula especial de leche sin lactosa, esta era más costosa y mejoró un poco la situación mientras hubo leche disponible en el mercado, pero igual presentaba un poco de malestar, luego vino el sufrimiento de nuevo, opté por darle más sopas que tetero y el poco tetero que le preparaba era con leche de soja que no sabía nada bien y no tenía buen color.

Mi hijo siguió con problemas estomacales hasta que lo vio un gastroenterólogo pediatra y las cosas empeoraron, lastimosamente me dio un mal diagnóstico que redujo considerablemente la alimentación de mi hijo, pero con los meses conocí a otro pediatra que entendió mi situación y me recomendó leche de cabra para mi hijo.

En el estado Trujillo no había alergólogo que pudiera realizar las pruebas a mi hijo, lo más cercano era Mérida y eran realmente costosas, en ese momento no pudimos costear los gastos, pero mi prima que era contemporánea con mi hijo si pudo ir y resultó positiva a las pruebas de alergia, a ella la trataron con inyecciones por mucho tiempo y su condición mejoró.

This situation continued to worsen over time and after constant visits to the pediatrician, he decided to change the milk to use a special lactose-free milk formula, this was more expensive and improved the situation a little while there was milk available on the market, but still presented a little discomfort, then came the suffering again, I chose to give him more soups than tea and the little tea I prepared was with soy milk that did not taste good and had no good color.

My son continued with stomach problems until he was seen by a pediatric gastroenterologist and things got worse, unfortunately he gave me a bad diagnosis that considerably reduced my son's feeding, but over the months I met another pediatrician who understood my situation and recommended goat milk for my son.

In the state of Trujillo there was no allergist who could perform the tests to my son, the closest was Merida and they were really expensive, at that time we could not afford the expenses, but my cousin who was contemporary with my son could go and she was positive to the allergy tests, she was treated with injections for a long time and her condition improved.

En mi caso tuve que actuar de manera diferente de acuerdo a mis posibilidades y seguí la recomendación del último pediatra, eso fue una excelente alternativa para mí y más por la situación que atravesaba el país en ese momento, pues ya no se conseguía leche infantil y mucho menos sin lactosa.

En vista de esta recomendación decidí recorrer los campos de mi estado, buscando el tan preciado líquido, hasta que por fin encontré a un señor que tenía varias cabras y me vendía dos y tres litros cada dos días, el detalle es que tenía que llegar hasta donde él vivía y a veces tenía que pagar taxi para entrar y salir de donde él estaba, en fin la leche terminó costándome mucho más de lo que valía, pero hice el esfuerzo y nos ayudó bastante.

In my case I had to act differently according to my possibilities and I followed the recommendation of the last pediatrician, this was an excellent alternative for me and even more so because of the situation the country was going through at that time, since infant milk was no longer available, much less lactose-free milk.

In view of this recommendation I decided to go through the fields of my state, looking for the so precious liquid, until I finally found a man who had several goats and sold me two and three liters every two days, the detail is that I had to get to where he lived and sometimes I had to pay a cab to get in and out of where he was, in short, the milk ended up costing me much more than it was worth, but I made the effort and it helped us a lot.

Mi hijo tomó leche de cabra desde los dos años hasta los ocho, esto fue algo muy bueno para él y para su salud, lo malo es que olía a cabra,😱 y tenía que cambiar la sábana de su cuna todos los días, con el tiempo este olor desapareció.

Hoy mi hijo come de todo sin que le cause daño, incluyendo leche entera, helados y productos lácteos, no podría decir que mejoró 100%, pero sí que su cuerpo en este momento de la vida no está generando tantos problemas con la lactosa,cómo paso en años anteriores.

Tener un hijo que presente problemas estomacales es un reto hoy en día, pero siempre debemos optar por lo natural , es más beneficiable y provechoso.

My son drank goat milk from the age of two until he was eight years old, this was something very good for him and for his health, the bad thing is that he smelled like goat,😱 and I had to change the sheet of his crib every day, with time this smell disappeared.

Today my son eats everything without harm, including whole milk, ice cream and dairy products, I could not say that he improved 100%, but I can say that his body at this time of life is not generating so many problems with lactose, as it happened in previous years.

Having a child with stomach problems is a challenge nowadays, but we should always opt for the natural, it is more beneficial and profitable.
