Thanks for writing.
I've been teaching my kids about spending and saving since they were 6 years old.
Luckily I'm in a position where I could buy them new clothing every school semester but I absolutely will not. I'm trying to teach then to buy quality, buy once, and maintain for a long time. Save money so that it is there when you need it. Don't spend just to make yourself happy now.
Both of my sons have jobs now and have saved up to have money in case they need it. Both marvel at how people often spend foolishly and wonder why they are broke before their next paycheque.
A couple thoughts:
God made all people equal. Unfortunately not all people choose wisdom.
No law says that I must care for every child in need, that is true. However, God says that we are only stewards of the resources we are given and will ultimately need to give account on how it was spent. Better to have spent wisely when that day comes.
