Hello lovely mothers and babies, i trust we are doing fine. It was a beautiful day today as we visited the health centre today. It was quite a trekkable distance but for the sake of the baby we used a tricycle.
Baby beauty is six weeks old and today is her second postnatal medical care. The health care centre is always filled to the brim with nursing mothers trooping in with their babies for examination and immunization.
It was my first time going to the health care centre for this reason. The hall was filled with different noises of mothers, and children. Children were yelling when they were being given injections or immunizations.
There was a case in which a mother lost one of her triplets because of improper medical checkup.
Which is why I will be sharing a few tips on infant care.
Nursing an infant is really demanding. At this stage of their lives, their system is still really fragile and their immune system is still very weak and immature. Also, they have not yet developed immunity to many common infections.
Every single thing could get to the and would be hard to get rid of.
Things like the cold. Cold could easily get into an infant's body if not covered properly. Common cold if taken lightly could escalate into pneumonia and croup. Stomach flu is also common in babies and jaundice as well.
Here are the few tips for a healthy baby's living.
Prenatals and postnatal: This is a very important aspect of pregnancy and childbirth. During these regular checkups the mother and the baby is examined and treated if there are few possible infections. Regular checkup is a necessity for both mother and baby.
Breastfeeding: scientific research has made it known that breast milk contains all the necessary nutrients required for child's growth. These nutrients are deposited in the right quantities including water. These nutrients help build the body systems to fight against diseases and infections.
Hydration: Water is said to bring life to every living thing including plants and animals. Water revives back dead cells hereby keeping the system bouncing and steady. Water is also needed for babies. There's always a controversy that water is not needed for babies because it is deposited in breastmilk. But water is very essential for babies. Water should be given in little drops to infants. Mild, properly sterilized water.
Food: When the baby gets to the eating age, the food selection, type of food and quantity is essential as well. From at least six months of age.
Babies are so precious and they need delicate hands and care.
My day at the hospital went well.
