5 Tips to deal with pregnancy discomfort
Like I said in previous posts, growing a baby obviously takes a toll on your body and mind. Don’t ignore the signals your body is sending you. Reach out to others if you’re struggling throughout your pregnancy. Ask for help from your partner, family or friends, if like me you end up being judge by your friends just tell them to F!@# off and that will help a lot feel better. Any ways here I am with…
5 Tips to help you with your pregnancy craziness/discomfort!
(morning sickness, stress and anxiety, frequent urination, heartburn)
1.- Eat small snacks, saltines crackers
morning all day sickness is annoying as hell, especially when you do feel hungry but the nausea or even vomiting make eating a nightmare, what I did was eat small bites here and there like really just bite size food where my best friend throughout my whole pregnancy, that way I could eat whenever I felt my stomach wasn’t going to act out and small enough portions so, it didn’t make me feel bad after.
This is almost common knowledge but any cracker that is salty will help a lot, this is true, I could eat a whole packaged of saltines and be happy but I still suggest to take it one step at a time and try just one just in case it doesn't work out for you the same way. Keeping a bag of them in your bag or near where you are at all times is a life saver.
2.- Take as much Naps as you can
Growing a human is exhausting. It’s completely normal for a pregnant woman to feel fatigued, add to that morning sickness, financial thinking and all the rest that comes with having a baby, you can get extreme exhaustion too. So, take a lot of naps, its something people always say, sleep now cause when the baby comes you won’t be able to do it as much, but in reality, while you are pregnant sleeping can help dealing with stress and anxiety a lot, keep your bedroom dark, clean, and cold and cozy it will help a lot!
3.- Take Small Sips of fluids during the day and drink from a Straw
If you can drink a lot of water (unlike me it made me nauseous) there is a down side with pregnancy it will make you go pee every second of the day, remember baby is getting big inside and to make room for him/her the body rearranges your organs putting your bladder under the baby and making you want to pee a lot, so if you drink a lot of fluids all at once it will be worse.
Drinking from a Straw, here is the thing with me even drinking water made me want to throw up, and so in order not to get dehydrated I learn I could use a straw to drink any beverage without getting nauseous. If you want to be all green and stuff and are against straws know there are reusable ones you can buy!
4.- Pillows and MORE pillows
You need them it will make sitting, sleeping and all around anything feel better, I had 5 just for me and the belly lol, it sounds like a lot but believe me they weren’t, I even though I wouldn’t need them after the delivery and it was when I needed them the most, it helps you put in a better position, it helps you carry the belly, it helps you A LOT use them!
Small, big, medium in all sizes you need them!
5.- Take lots of baths and don’t use PJs all day
Now this doesn't mean don’t use cozy clothes but! Don’t do the pjs all day, why? Cause it makes you feel like a sick person and not sexy at all, when pregnant you are already dealing with a lot of “I feel like a whale” stuff to add that to it, do it for you not for your partner tho, put in clothes that are comfortable and let you feel human and not just a human incubator.
Baths and showers help a lot too, there were times I felt like taking a shower would require an army just to get me off the bed but! As soon as I was in the shower, I felt so much better, being clean can help you feel more like yourself and can also help with the heat waves, it may take a huge effort but is worth it!
Remember do you and what feels better for you, if you want to stay all day on the bed and not take any showers at all because it helps you then do it! The important thing here is to be comfortable.
