Hello, hello, beautiful community of moms!
I'm back to tell you that in this house the school season has officially started and with it the homework season, which is maintained by Tia, Mamabetty and, of course, Andres, who makes it difficult for us, because he doesn't like to do homework.
However, after an arduous negotiation process that basically consists of doing the homework, otherwise no computer, he ends up giving in. In reality, he doesn't have much choice, because this process is very similar to a dictatorial regime: either you do it or you do it.
This time we had to work with Language Arts and Natural Sciences. For the first, we were assigned to research words according to their accent, and for the other, to do a written paper on soils.
Once we determined what we had to do, we got down to work. First, we worked on the language area. We researched, read, and then I explained to Andres and we did a practice and homework assignment.
This topic has always been quite difficult to explain, because as native speakers we never stop to think about stressed syllables, accents, last, penultimate and antepenultimate syllables, so it takes time to learn it.
But, we do what we can. I don't lose hope that he will learn and understand that and all language related topics. On the other hand, my sister, known as Mamabetty, took it upon herself to bring up Natural Science.
It turns out that this work had to be done in pencil and this generated a lot of stress for my sister and, thank God, everything went well. André wrote fluently, quickly and clearly with his pen, which was a relief for everyone. My sister is a perfectionist and everything has to be done right.
I don't know if it happens to her, but homework is always laborious and even more so after this pandemic. Everything is a process by which (as I say) and it's not that it wasn't before, but when the responsibility falls directly on the home it becomes heavier considering that the home itself already has its own implications.
However, each one resolves as he/she can with what he/she has. Fortunately, my sister and I are a team when it comes to homework. While she is researching and explaining one topic, I am working on another and we help each other. Andres, once he starts doing his stuff, he just gets into the groove and doesn't leave until we're done.
I'll leave you, my loves, for now, but I would love to hear about your experiences with this topic...
¡Saludos!
Greetings!
