I always get excited when find mushrooms I haven't seen before.
I'm thinking that's pretty normal for Fungi Lovers.
Just recently I found a couple of different new ones. No positive identification yet.
I've been Googling and browsing through many photos. More often than not I see many look alikes.
In my search I couldn't come up with close photo comparison to lead me in the right direction in identifying it.
There's a little shy one hiding under the cap of the bigger one. I noticed it when I got down on the ground to take a close up shot.
I spoke an assured it.. it need not be afraid of me.
I can only but wonder if I'm the only one out there talking to mushrooms in the woods.
More excitement came my way when spotted this amazing and most interesting mushroom.
It closely looks like a Parasol mushroom. Maybe macrolepiota procera
Or it could be in the Amanita,sp.
It can be frustrating sometimes not to get a postive identification.
There are a few mushrooms I've seen over the years that still remain a mystery to me.
The Birch Polypores are very common sighting in the woods.
I couldn't resist snapping a picture and admiring the late afternoon sun shining upon it.
I'm looking forward to finding some late season mushrooms and hoping for mild Fall temperatures.
It's a beautiful time of the year right now for spending time exploring the woods and trails.
