An old trunk that serves as a support for the lemon tree we have in the garden, is the home of these little friends, one of them already has a couple of weeks there, but new little friends have come to keep him company. These are perennial mushrooms, which usually occur on pine or conifer trees, the truth is that I don't know which tree this old dried up stick was, however, it is now the home of these little mushrooms.
Commonly called a Polyporus annosus, and whose scientific name is Heterobasidion annosum (hard to pronounce right?), it is a perennial and inedible mushroom, Aha! you thought that overnight I would swallow some books about mushrooms and fungi, Well no! The technology was used to use them, and smartphones are a wonder, as they have applications for almost everything. So, I downloaded an application that I thought was great for mushroom lovers, because it helps those like me, who don't know much or anything, to learn a little more about them.
This application is called Book of Mushrooms, the truth is that I was looking for an application like iSeek, that just by placing a photograph you can identify the animal or plant species, however, and although this application is more a book with good information, it has made things much easier for me, now I can have a better idea of the kind of mushrooms and fungi I can find.
These fans that at first sight look harmless, the truth is that they can be very harmful to the pines, because they can damage from their bark to their roots, making the tree rot and dry. Thanks to God I do not have any pine tree in my garden, and after knowing this information I have checked the lemon tree, looking for some of these in its branches, and for happiness, I have not found them, apparently, they are only in this dry branch.

Un tronco viejo que funge como apoyo del limonero que tenemos en el jardín, es el hogar de estos amiguitos, ya uno de ellos tiene un par de semanas allí, pero nuevos amiguitos le han llegado a hacer compañía. Estos son hongos perennes, que por lo general se dan en los árboles de pino o coníferas, la verdad es que desconozco de que árbol era esta vieja vara seca, sin embargo, ahora es el hogar de estas pequeñas setas.
Llamado comúnmente yesquero añoso o Polyporus annosus, y cuyo nombre científico es Heterobasidion annosum (difícil de pronunciar ¿Cierto?), es un hongo perenne y no comestible, ¡Ajá! pensabas que de la noche a la mañana me trague unos libros sobre setas y hongos, ¡Pues no! La tecnología se usó para utilizarla, y los teléfonos inteligentes son una maravilla, pues tienen aplicaciones para casi todo. Así que, me he descargado una aplicación que me pareció genial para los amantes de los hongos y setas, pues nos ayuda a los que como yo, no sabemos mucho o nada, a aprender un poco más de ellos.
Esta aplicación se llama Book of Mushrooms, la verdad es que buscaba una aplicación como el iSeek, que con tan solo colocar una fotografía puede identificar la especie animal o la planta, sin embargo, y aunque esta aplicación es más un libro con buena información, me ha facilitado mucho las cosas, ahora puedo tener una mejor idea de la clase de setas y hongos que puedo encontrar.
Estos abanicos que a simple vista se ven inofensivos, la verdad es que pueden ser muy perjudiciales para los pinos, pues puede dañar desde su corteza hasta su raíz, haciendo que esta se pudra y seque el árbol. Gracias a Dios no tengo ningún pino en mi jardín, y luego de saber esta información he revisado el árbol de limón, en busca de alguno de estos en sus ramas y por dicha no los he encontrado, al parecer solamente están en esta rama seca.
