Greetings to all
The fungus i found growing on the old branch near your house is actually a really interesting little creature. It looks small and simple at first but when i look closely it has a lot of charm. These kinds of fungi usually grow in damp shady places so it makes sense that i found them just outside your home. They have a frilly coral like shape almost like tiny decorations made by nature.
What makes them fun to look at is their design. They spread out like little fans or tiny flowers with soft, wavy edges. Their color is usually light brown or beige and sometimes the tips look a bit white. They dont grow tall like the usual mushrooms with a cap and a stem. Instead they grow flat and wide, almost hugging the wood they live on. That is why spotting them feels like finding hidden treasures close to the ground..
These fungi play an important role in nature. They help break down old wood. The branch you saw them on is slowly turning back into soil because of them. Without fungi like this fallen trees and branches would just pile up and take forever to disappear. They act like nature’s cleaners working quietly to recycle wood and help new plants grow. They dont get a lot of attention but they are always there doing their job.
As i mentioned how happy i am when i realized they were growing “sa tabi-tabi lang,” right outside your place. That is really the best part sometimes you dont have to go far to see something beautiful or interesting. A lot of people go on long hikes just to find fungi or plants but for you nature showed up right in your backyard. When i start paying attention to these small things everything around is suddenly feels more alive..
These fungi usually appear after rain or when the weather is humid. That is why you saw a bunch of them at once. Once you see one cluster you start noticing more and more. It feels like discovering a tiny world you did not know was there and it is really fun when i start exploring it.
Even though they look cute and unique they are not edible. They are tough and leathery not soft like the mushrooms we eat. But they are perfectly safe to look at touch lightly and take photos of.
It is great that i enjoyed finding them. Simple things like this really make our day brighter Nature has so many small surprises and fungiespecially ones with cool shapes like this remind us that there is beauty everywhere if we just take a bit of time to look..
