Hello fungi lovers, again one more week sharing with the community my latest find, in one of my recent outings in search of mushrooms.
This year I had the pleasure of finding again this species of mushroom called Sparassis crispa or cauliflower mushroom, which until last year I had not known or had never seen, and to my surprise this year it also grew in the same place, near the remains of a log.
It is a large mushroom, about thirty to forty centimeters, its shape is globose and irregular, reminiscent of a cauliflower, short or nonexistent stem, pleasant smell and taste, although I have not tried it yet, I am not encouraged at the moment, I just like to photograph them.
From what some members of the community have told me in the past, it is a rare mushroom to see or find, it does not appear anywhere, in addition to that it is very common to prepare a good soup with this mushroom, and some make croquettes or the They serve with some scrambled eggs.
This mushroom parasitizes the roots of the pines and always comes out in the same place, it is something that I did not know until recently, its season lasts all year, although I always see it at this time, between November and December.
