Greetings, mushroom and nature lovers! I just have a few hours left of Mushroom Monday here so I'm going to use that as an opportunity to share the mushrooms I've encountered at work!
This one is a bit dry but it retained is lovely color, one of my favorites actually. I found it growing in the shade under some hollyhock leaves.
I looked under more leaves and, sure enough, I find this one. You may remember this one from last year. Actually, this is the same exact location where I found it then, too! Would this species be perennial or did this flush come from new spores that were dropped?
The last one looks familiar. I think it is the type whose caps rapidly dissolve into black 'ink' in a matter of hours. If so, I was lucky to walk by this one before that happened!
And so ends my whirlwind work mushroom adventure! Oh! I forgot to include the bracket fungus that's growing on one of the crabapple trees! Oh well. Maybe we'll get to see it on Friday. Until then!
