Hola, setero! Today I share some fresh mushroom impressions I brought from the short trip to my countryside place. I didnt visit forest, just the garden and the abandoned area around it. And, believe me or not, it prepared quite a lot of mushrooms for me!
I think these visuals will go naturally for 's My Picture Day challenge, which I considered to enter quite a while.
I already told the 1st part of the story yesterday: it was a short 3-day visit to our countryside house, visit full of labour, leizure hours of macro-hunting were not expected, so I intentionally left the camera at home... but lended my wife's Xiaomi smartphone (I simply couldnt resist to take some nice pictures of the stuff I've met).
The area was flooded with snails, they were everywhere, under each leaf. But today my post is dedicated to the mushrooms.
And it was a nice experience of trying to create macro shots with smartphone. (I did so many shitphotos! and some of the plots 100% were not possible to shoot, for example some bugs sitting in the grass, smart's AI simply refused to see what I saw there, preferring to watch grass, instead of a bug... Now, having this experience, I really have far better admiration to the guys, who bring quality macros made with smartphones -- that is not an easy task, no way!)
There was a little spot, the spruce stump where I discovered some tree mushrooms last summer, I checked it again -- and voyla! now the plantation have grown much more.
I definitely will spend some hours with dedicated macro lens, trying to capture these beautiful textures and shapes in a best possible way.
But these shots look good too, arent they?
Especially the one with the dews. Probably you are in the know: this is not the dew-after-rain, these drops can be seen on mushrooms during the hot weather, too. The reason they are there is, that mushroom produce some excessive moisture, and these 'tears' is the way to get rid of it.
Finally I was able to find this 'Judas Ear' jelly shroom (doesnt look sympatico, I admit... but it is edible!)
I have a strong suspicion that many of us have found it too... just passed it by, dont thinking this sh**t is worth any attention. It is really not easy to notice; I was checking all the big aspen branches lying on the ground, and after 6-8 efforts I found this copy, and also the Polypora on the photo below.
This is a last year's mushroom, I think, it wintered under the snow -- the fresh growing ones will have milky-white colour. I consider it may be Lenzites Betulina or one of its close relatives.
I also found tiny shrooms that are not puff-balls.
I identified them as Lycogala epidendrum (in Russian Ликогала древесинная, она же Волчье молоко, or Wolf's Milk). It appeared just in two steps from our closet, and 6 steps from our compost heap. What else can I add? I do have high hopes for latrines, in terms of interesting mushrooms :)
All of the images taken by me, with smartphone Redmi Note 7
Now its time to part ways, I wish you good luck -- and Good Hunting!
