Today is mushroom Friday and I will be making pide cakes The recipe for this flatbread is simple and in many ways resembles a pizza, but there are still differences. Strictly speaking, following the original oriental version, the flatbread is prepared with meat. But a mushroom lover will definitely find a use for them.
I took mushrooms, tomatoes, Suluguni cheese and 500 g of puff yeast dough.
Lightly fry mushrooms with tomatoes.
Put some greens, tomatoes, cheese, mushrooms on the dough.
Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.
The resulting flatbread can be compared to pizza, the ingredients of the recipes are very similar. Still, I would say that the taste is different. Firstly, a completely different base, the dough is softer, almost airy. Secondly, the taste of Suluguni cheese is different from hard cheeses. In general, the flatbread reminds me more of an open pie with mushrooms. Next time I will remove the tomatoes from the recipe, I did not like the taste of these winter tomatoes.
