Here is what happened to my poor reddening lepiotas for this #mushroommonday
Poor guys shriveled and turned red within one day.
They looked like this the day before. I was hoping to catch them mid bloom but the sun and heat had other plans for them.
This is why they are called reddening lepiota. They got really maroon reddish in color after drying out.
The gills really turned red and kind of irridescent.
This was the same pair the day before.
I did notice another flowerpot mushroom starting out.
Quite a few new ones grew up the next day.
These three are honoring their fallen friend.
My pepper plant's potting soil has a little critter starting out.
In fact quite a few of these flower pot mushrooms are growing in my pepper plant's pot.
This is the largest one. I'll keep an eye on it tomorrow to see how big it gets. Eventually it will look like the white ones earlier in this post. Too bad these flower pot mushrooms have toxins in them. I would be nice to have both peppers and edible mushrooms at the same time.
