The photo from late Autumn last year shown a mushroom known as porcini (also cep, Steinpilz, or penny bun). Porcini mushrooms are famous for their earthy, meaty flavor in various recipes for Italian pasta and rice dishes, soups and sauces.
Last year there were few of them here in Slovenia due to very little rain, but I have found few of them in local woods, just like the one in the photo.
