Today is Monday, it's time for me to share my experience as one of the speakers at a poetry musicalization training held in my city, Banda Aceh. This training was held for 3 days, at a hotel on the outskirts of town, namely the Jeumpa hotel.
This training was divided into 3 parts, with different material themes. Incidentally, I was given the task of presenting the material on the first day.
I presented material about "how to make poetry musicalization easily" with several elements that must be met in a poetry musical composition.
I'm giving training materials
The musicalization of poetry has two elements that must be met, namely music and poetry presented in a performance. It all started with a poem, which was then sung and recited. So in a musical composition of poetry there must be a poem that is sung and the poem is read, usually the poem that is read is the essence of the poem.
After these 2 steps are achieved, then we determine the steps for making poetry musicalization
- Determination of poetry
Determination of poetry is the most important main element in the musicalization of poetry. Usually, a competition will give a variety of poems, therefore determine the poems that will be performed taking into account the theme, lyrics and musical accompaniment that will be used. Determining the right poem will facilitate the process of making poetry musicalization.
- The description of the contents of the poem (interpretation)
The elaboration of the contents of the poem is done by interpreting the content and meaning contained in a poem, this process is done so that we are more animating in singing the musicalization of the poem. This interpretation also makes it easier for us to convey and animate the poetry to be read.
- Creating rhythm or musical accompaniment
After describing the contents of the poem, the next process is creating the rhythm or musical accompaniment. This also includes determining the musical instruments and tempo to be used in a composition.
If we are not good at playing musical instruments, find friends who are good at playing musical instruments, and also a friend who can sing. At least one person singing and one person playing music.
From my experience, use a major tone for poetry with a cheerful nuance. If the poem has a sad tone, we start with a minor tone.
