"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can change,
And the wisdom to know the difference"
*Reinhold Niebuhr*
This pandemic has been stressful, hasn't it? So many us have been affected by it, and it's not over yet (sigh)
Like many of you, we caught the dreaded lurgy Covid earlier this year, and whilst it was (thankfully) the milder Omicron variant, Ben & I still got hit hard, thanks to a combination of my disabilities and the stress we've been under due to some family circumstances beyond our control.
As some of you guys already know, it took nearly six weeks to get my voice back, and once I did, I thought I was out of the woods. Hurrah!
So it sucks - truly sucks - to have it confirmed that I have Long Covid. I managed to see my most excellent GP recently, and when your Covid symptoms don't go away and still kick your butt after 12 weeks, then you have Long Covid...
Have any of you dealt with this? I think in the U.K. there are now 2 million people who are, so worldwide, I dread to think.
Apparently, my next step is waiting on an appointment at one of the new clinics set up to help with this.
In the meantime, it's gonna be a slog getting enough energy together to film a car review. Ben and I have had to scale back on how many events we go to, and how many cars we book in to review. When Ben started on this journey, sometimes as many as three cars booked in during the same week. Now? If we manage three cars in one month it's more than enough.
Luckily my blood work and X-Ray came back clear, so it means I'm ready to go when a space becomes available at the Long Covid Clinic, although I have absolutely no idea what will happen when I get there!
Let me know if any of you have been to one - I am so curious as to what I may encounter there.
Thank you all!
